high fees

Refund was sent in the wrong currency without explanation, leading to extra exchange fees on top of high service fee. (GB has really bad exchange rates)

This could be avoided by simply using the original transaction currency which my creditcard account can receive. Total service fee (incl. exchange rate mark-up) more than 50%.

Only real winner is GB self.

No service in VAT refund

No service in VAT refund. Giving a DIVA form should not be this hard.

Chatbot on the website is very poor.

Overall, customer service is weak.

Update: They seem to have time to respond to reviews, but not to actually help their customers. Lots of promises, no action.

Slechte service

De service bij het aanvragen van btw-teruggave voor export was teleurstellend. Er was inconsistentie in de informatie verstrekt via telefoon, chatbot en website. Voor een fiets van 5000+ euro zou je betere klantenservice verwachten, zeker wat betreft de btw-teruggave.

Ik hoop dat Canyon dit oppakt en een niveau van service levert dat overeenkomt met hun prijsniveau. Zo niet, dan valt Canyon helaas in dezelfde categorie als vele andere online bedrijven die zich verschuilen achter chatbots en automatische e-mails, om kosten te besparen ten koste van klantenservice.

Voor de procedure die in Nederland geldt voor BTW teruggave, wordt op de website geadviseerd om contact op te nemen met ons lokale kantoor.
