Title: Sellers Beware - Forced to Pay for Vinted's Own Delivery Failures
What happened:
I sold a £100 bag that went through Vinted's Verification Hub service. The item was correctly shipped, passed verification successfully, and then... Vinted's own logistics system failed to deliver it to the buyer.
The bag has been sitting in their Verification Hub for nearly a month.
Vinted's "solution"?
I must pay £6-8 to create a return label and retrieve my own property - because THEY couldn't complete the delivery after verification.
This is outrageous because:
- I fulfilled every obligation correctly
- The failure happened within Vinted's controlled system AFTER verification
- Their T&C says they compensate sellers when items are lost/damaged in their possession
- Under UK Consumer Rights Act, the party controlling delivery is responsible
Customer support kept repeating "we have procedures we cannot deviate from" - even when those "procedures" mean charging sellers for Vinted's own mistakes.
This is my SECOND unresolved case - I have another package lost in their system for a month with no resolution.
Warning to sellers:
- If Vinted's Verification Hub fails, YOU pay to get your item back
- "Buyer Protection Fee" means nothing for sellers
- Customer service is just copy-paste responses with zero accountability
- Your item can disappear into their system for weeks/months
For a platform charging "protection fees" and operating verification services, this lack of responsibility is unacceptable. Vinted operates as more than a simple intermediary when they control payment, verification, and logistics - but they refuse accountability when their system fails.
