Wickes Darlington
Had a kitchen supplied and fitted by Wickes Darlington and had a terrible experience. A very long story but the main bad points include
Leaving boiler pipe work exposed. They tried to get away with saying that they hadn't agreed to box this in and that the filter which sticks out on our boiler wasn't on the boiler when they came to measure. This proved to be wrong as in the plans drawn up it clearly showed the pipes being boxed in. Had a fight with Wickes to get this problem fixed. In the end (months later) they sent a man to move the filter from the boiler to under the sink and he did an absolutely shocking job.
The kitchen fitter said our back wall didn't need plastering, and were planning to come a few days before it was due to be fitted to take old kitchen out. But after getting a second opinion it absolutely did need plastering and the fitters never came to take it out. We had to rip the whole thing out ourselves so that we could get it plastered and have time to dry out.
After fitting they left all the scraps and rubbish in our back yard in cardboard boxes and we were advised they would collect it the next day. They didnt turn up until about a week later, by which point heavy rain had soaked all the boxes and everything had tipped out. It became a big safety hazard as one of us in the household is disabled and unsteady on foot. We also couldn't let out dog out incase she injured herself.
We were told we needed 6 packs of flooring for the kitchen, this turned out to not be enough and when we went to purchase more it was discontinued. So we were left with 6 packs of laminate that we couldn't use for the kitchen. Also the floor has been left with a dip in it so there wasn't appropriate preparations made before fitting the laminate.
Overall we have found Wickes Darlington to be unhelpful and rude. Once they have secured the sale, they simply don't care about customer satisfaction. Would definitely NOT RECOMMEND.
