#epstein files
the u.s government really is so incompetent that you can just cntrl + A, cntrl + C, cntrl + V and unredact the epstein files? Did they really redact them as a pdf document with like the rectangle tool or something?
Icing on the cake is every news outlet saying "hackers" as if basic word document functionality isnt a minimum requirement for every single office worker in the world.
and its going to happen a second time cause they're not gonna learn their lesson
Here’s a link for the guardian article (last one in the screenshot above) I’m not tracing them all but I wanted to go at least one
I'm putting money on 'the people who used to do redactions were all fired for being 'diversity hires' and they made incompetent Magas do it instead.
Oh no.... No it's actually so much more stupid than that.
See, Adobe does actually have proper tools for redacting PDFs in a way that you can't just get around by copy-pasting. But you need to have the premium version to use those tools.
Now you would think that the US government would pay for the premium version of Adobe right? Like, this seems like a pretty essential piece of functionality for a government to have.
And you'd be correct. In fact this functionality was important enough that the entire government held a contract for the premium version of Adobe, across every department.
A contract which Elon Musk's DOGE cancelled in their desparate fool's crusade to find "wasteful government spending" to get rid of.
The reason why these redactions are so bad is because Elon Musk took away the tools they needed to do it properly.
Meaning that in a weird, roundabout way, he really did increase government transparency just like he promised.
So they thought they'd just highlight some bits in black? That you can still read by selecting the text?
BREAKING: Two more towns in Idaho that voted overwhelmingly for Trump in 2024 are hosting "MAGA Bonfires" tomorrow to burn their red hats because Trump still hasn't released the Epstein Files.
