Senate Democrats had said that they would hold out on the shutdown until Republicans agreed to restore funding to ACA health insurance subsidies. Instead, they caved with a handshake "deal" for the Senate to vote on a bill within 40 days, without any guarantee that the House will take up the bill.
This bill — which would restore government funding through January 31st — does not immediately end the shutdown. Instead, the bill would have to pass back through the House and be signed by President Trump.
The eight Democrats who caved are:
- Hassan (NH)
- Cortez Masto (NV)
- Shaheen (NH)
- Rosen (NV)
- Durbin (IL)
- Kaine (VA)
- King (ME)
- Fetterman (PA)
Fuck these 8 Dems! Vote them out next year, people.
