I purchased 2 of Simpson & Partners EV chargers for use inside my garage and on my driveway. These were my first EV chargers purchased, and I did my homework online in advance, to select chargers that had the very best reviews, best features and build quality. I wasn't disappointed and they are by far the best looking EV chargers when you see them on a wall. I was also able to match the colours and materials to that of my house. When ordering them, I spoke to a really experienced and honest guy (Tom) at the company, who helped me decide upon the exact type of charger and associated features I required. The buying experience, the product and the follow-up service is just first class. Thank you Simpson & Partners!

I would give no stars if I could. Charger lock has eaten my type 2 cable and will not release. Reported went through rigmarole, nothing worked. Initially promised replacemen, then radio silence, then eventually on threat of full refund more rigmarole. Eventually turned into we will send someone out to fix. We gave a list of dates that we were available only to receive a telephone call at 19:30 on a day when we were both 150 miles away for work to see if someone who was in the vicinity could drop in that evening. Charger still attached to my cable that it increasingly looks like I will need to replace before changing charger to one that is not fraught with challenges. It is the service or lack thereof I object to most.
Edit: following complaint company turned up promptly and fixed the issue with the charger allowing it to work, although it took a while they were committed to actually supporting their product, so have amended review accordingly as people do just sometimes make mistakes.

Extremely Poor communication!!!
Having spoken to this company on 18th Dec I was keen to buy but need an installation quote. I was told my query would be referred to get the instal company that covered my area to call me. Days passed so I messaged “put a ticket in” (contact form) on their website on the 21st Dec. Mon 22nd passed with no contact so I called on 23rd Dec. I found it very difficult to get anyone to answer (all agents busy) then had to go to a voicemail message. I got a call back and they knew nothing of the “ticket” but the man on the phone took my details and said he would send me a self survey form. I’ve never received this and have tried to contact another few times not getting to speak to anyone. Again voice messages with no call back !!!
A really frustrating system of which they need to improve. This experience has soured my confidence in the company in that if I wished to order is this the level of service as this is poor.
Edit: reference your reply you have NEVER shared any details of an installer with me and still not contacted me from my outstanding voice messages to you and a new ticket????

I rarely write reviews, but I felt I had to write one here.
I bought the Simpson & Partners Home Series V3 (7kW Plus, untethered, wall mounted) in Cotswold Green with a Bronze lid, and it’s genuinely stunning. From the moment you see it, it’s clear this isn’t a mass-produced plastic box. The build quality is exceptional - solid, beautifully finished, and clearly made with care and attention to detail. It looks fantastic on the property and feels like a premium product that’s been designed to last. They even included a cable hook at my request, which normally only comes with tethered chargers and is just as well made.
The level of support matched the quality of the product. When setting up Intelligent Octopus Go, David at Simpson & Partners stepped in to help, even though this should have been handled by Octopus, who were difficult to get hold of. David took ownership, responded quickly by email and phone, and guided me through the process clearly and patiently until everything was working properly. That kind of support really sets them apart.
I would highly recommend Simpson & Partners. Exceptional workmanship, a charger that genuinely enhances the look of your property, and a product built from high-quality materials to last. Just as importantly, the after-sales support is excellent. A company that clearly takes pride in both its products and its customers.

Wanting to support a high-quality small UK company, I had no hesitation in ordering from Simpson & Partners. Their charger is well reviewed and well presented. I placed my order on 25 November, noting the stated five-day delivery time. On that basis, I booked my electrician for installation two days later, allowing ample contingency for any minor delay.
Unfortunately, this is where the experience deteriorated significantly. Despite the charger being fully paid for, I have still not received it. I have been given multiple assurances, none of which have been met. Communication has been extremely poor — obtaining clear, timely information about the status of my order has been unnecessarily difficult, with little or no proactive communication in return.
I have been told that there is an issue with the supply of tethered leads. However, a review posted after my order — from a customer who ordered later than I did — indicates that they have nevertheless received their unit. This demonstrates that a solution was found for at least one subsequent order, while no equivalent resolution has been offered or communicated in my case. This materially adds to the confusion and concern.
This situation has taken far too much of my time, with no resolution in sight. I would add that the individuals I have managed to speak to have been polite and pleasant, but they are extremely difficult to get hold of, and there is little to no follow-up thereafter.
I take no pleasure in having to resort to writing this, but after repeated attempts to resolve the matter directly and privately, this has become a last resort. The continued delay is also forcing me to rely on public charging at a significantly higher cost than home charging — an expense I would not otherwise be incurring had the order been fulfilled within the stated timeframe.
I have no reason to doubt that the product itself is of good quality, and the company may well be capable in other respects. However, the lack of communication, failure to manage expectations, and absence of a clear and consistent explanation have made this a deeply unsatisfactory experience.

I wanted a charger which would look nice on my property, some other manufacturers are quite big.
I ordered online and although I am positive I added the correct delivery address which wasn’t my home, the confirmation came through as my billing address. I immediately tried to contact S&P, but their phone system isn’t great. I resorted to their chat function, which again was slow and took over 30mins. I still don’t know if I was communicating with a human. I was advised the delivery address would be changed and I requested an updated confirmation, which never arrived.
After 8 working days I emailed for an update, the next day I got an email saying “good news it had gone into production”. So not really good news, it was the basic model so really shouldn’t need any production time. The following day it arrived, so the previous email wasn’t correct. Their website says tracking information would be supplied but I didn’t receive any.
The charger arrived, as I ordered a thethered charger I assumed there would be a dust cap on the vehicle end, but there is none, despite all the website photos showing one. Apparently they no longer supply them, so I have ordered from good old Amazon. Think this is a bit penny pinching for a so called premium product.
Installation from my own electrician seemed to go well, he did query why there was no fitting screws, again penny pinching.
It looks nice but my experience of customer service wasn’t great.

Simpson & Partners (specifically David Reynolds) sent a courier to pick up the bits and sent out another one immediately which was lost in DHL's warehouse. S&P sent out a 3rd unit via parcel force which arrived safely. Great comms throughout to a situation which was not their fault.

Our Simpson EV charger was installed last week. From the start the functionality was incomplete and erratic. It could do basic dumb charging - plugged in it would charge, stopping charging meant unplugging the car. That was it - nothing else worked properly.
The EV fitter tried really hard but had problems getting hold of Simpson on the phone. He got someone promise to call us so that they could test remotely/on site, but for two days running, no-one did. I called this morning but their phones rang unanswered.
When I eventually spoke to someone, he tried to blame the fitter, which was unfair and not the case. He was unhelpful and just about polite. My fitter came round again and checked the point that Simpson claimed he might have done wrongly - he hadn't.
The fitter has just about got the smart charging to work with no credit due to Simpson. There is still a fault on the app, which is giving false readings.
I could not recommend Simpson and doubt I would buy from them again.

Had a fault with what I thought was my 1yr old Simpson and Partners EV Charger so spoke to customer support. They were extremely helpful and accommodating and as it turns out it was my 10 m charging cable which was the fault. Changed the cable and problem solved !
The level of help and advice for an EV novice was exceptional and very patient. The EV charger has otherwise worked perfectly.Many thanks !

Got to say I’ve not had the best experience in which should just be a seamless transaction. I asked how long it would take to deliver the charger is I order and was told 7-10 business days during that time I received and email stating would delivered 13th November after that date elapsed I was told there was an issue at customs but should ship out and be with you on Saturday.
Then I received another date the 17th I thought fine, but that came and went called up again was told that further delays because of customs. And another date of 19th was given this date also came and went.
At this point I’m 20days from the purchase date No end looks like it’s in sight, so reluctantly I cancelled the order as this process shouldn’t be this hard and if it’s like this now what happens if the charger has issues then how long do I wait? As I would have already paid in full.
As for the refund it was seamless hence the stars at three otherwise it would have been lower. Just a pity the ordering/delivery couldn’t have been like this.

This morning I had a problem with my charger so I phoned the tech support. Not only did we solve the problem together, the approach was ‘ I have a customer with a problem. Let’s solve it’. Shown patient and explained every step. In a manor of true customer service. Half an hour later. We were laughing and joking with each other.
