Brisket was a happy dog. He was good with our son, playful, and just a ray of sunshine to everyone he was around.
And then he wasn't. It started with a cough that the vet dismissed as something that would go away on its own. When it didn't, he stopped eating. And then he stopped responding when we called him. Now he just lays or stands around, staring into space, not hearing or seeing us except for the few moments of clarity he has between devastating periods of nothing. All in the span of about three days.
We're at the end of our ropes right now. At the end of last month, we had to put down our weiner dog after she got loose and got hit by a car. We brought Brisket into our home as a way to bring some happiness back into our families, but we're so scared that we're going to lose him now too.
So we're asking for help to get him into an emergency clinic where he can be treated and hopefully returned to even some of the amazing dog that he was when we rescued him.

Do you know if his shots are up to date? It sounds as though he may have a case of Parvo, if you get a 7-in-one from your local pet store, and force feed the clear pidialight or chicken broth it should help. I've had to do this with my dog twice, I'm sorry it's happening to you :(
