Can’t go a day without seething in rage about how “Woke” was coined to discuss the pervasive nature of antiblack racism throughout all societies and got so fucking mangled by the white masses across all political spectrums that it practically doesn’t mean anything anymore. It’s almost a joke of itself.

During the height of the Ferguson protests, you’d see posts about how the system is designed to oppress the Black community and being unaware of how it operates is akin to being asleep, so you must stay Woke. (Woke as a term in the Black community actually has a long standing history but we’ll focus on this period of time for now). You have to keep your eyes open to the truth, that’s what it was about.

And now it’s used to discuss whether or not it’s woke for a brunette to wear jeans, or if using your turn signal is woke. It honestly makes me want to puke

I don't think I'm "woke" about any random anything, because that wordss MEANS AWARNEESSBOF BLACK STUGGLES AND WHAT WE FACE! It's not culture appropriattion for someone to have a kink that's like your but changed to fit their personal experience. kinks sre for turning people on. theyre not a fucking virtue call that youcan steal to signal that you're a good or bad person. Cultural Appropriation is Litterally having your culture put right in front of you with extreme bastardization, and a claim laid on it that you didn't do that first. And no one "did a kink first!" Intersectionality is about all parts if an identity, opressed or not, and how they change what happens to you in a societal context. Intersectionality is for everyone, yes even the cis perisex het allo white abled man. Intersectionality aknowleges how he fits in and how he isn't opressed because all those idenities together put him in a position of privilege. Change one, that changes how he acts and is percieved, and can change his life circumstances to the guy next to him.


All this while I see unironic post calling Trans women/transfems the black people of the trans community. No. I'm the black people of the trans community, because I'm Trans and fucking Black. Fuck you if you ever said this or agreed with that fucking take. White trans women/transfems aren't the black people of anything they're fucking White.


Fuck all yall for appropriating these terms for you stupid fucking disk-horse and fuck anyone who blocked me for calling them on their racism.

Woke is specifically a Black activism term. It is not for any other form of activism, thanks. You are still being antiblack if you misuse a term that refers to being Black and aware of the various kinds of racism that affect Black people to talk about anything else. Misusing and watering down terms is very fucking rude and unhelpful especially when leftists do this shit.

i was on here in 2015 when the michael brown ferguson uprisings were happening and i remember as a 14 year old in all my rage i completely changed my blog to focus exclusively on the protests and i remember using the hashtag stay woke and knowing what it meant even then and its crazy to see how 10 years later all it took was a bunch of nazis on fox news and inflammatory engagement bait twitter bots for your average liberal to adopt this whitewashed interpretation of the term

  • aromanticism
