Disputed treatment, inflated costs, and aggressive billing

I was a Felmo customer for 4 years. This experience ended that completely.

I was billed for a veterinary treatment that did not happen. The main procedure was aborted, yet I received a full invoice with additional charges. I was not properly informed, and my wife, who was present, does not speak sufficient German, which led to a clear lack of informed consent.

When I contested the invoice immediately and in writing, Felmo did not engage in any real discussion. Instead, I received template replies, followed by escalating payment reminders and inkasso threats, despite the fact that the claim was disputed from day one.

The prices were extremely inflated compared to the actual care provided. A different vet resolved the issue the next day without problems and at a fraction of the cost.

I escalated the case to the Tierärztekammer Berlin, which explicitly confirmed that this kind of behavior by Felmo is not unusual and that they often show no willingness to resolve disputes, moving quickly to inkasso instead.

At this point, I had no choice but to involve a lawyer. According to legal advice, the debt is not enforceable, and the inkasso fees are not lawful. Still, Felmo and their debt collector continued to apply pressure.This is not about one bad appointment. It’s about how disputes are handled: automated responses, no accountability, aggressive billing, and pushing customers toward legal action instead of resolution.

If you consider using Felmo, be aware: when something goes wrong, you may end up spending months defending yourself instead of receiving care or support.

SUPER EXPENSIVE, the reviews are fake be careful

I saw the advertisement, to have a vet at home for the same price than in a praxis, it seemed really nice.

The vet was for sure amazing, she did her job perfectly. I asked a casual check-up and a cortisone injection for my cat. You don't know the price before, the bill comes the day after.

168€ for a check-up and a cortisone injection ... the bill is full of points very blurry and many messages with the customer service didn't change anything. For the example, I never paid more than 80€ for the same in two praxis in Berlin. So NO, it's for sure WAY more expensive than in the praxis. They will say it's the price set by the GOT but many extra which are super weird are added to your bill at the end.

You will also notice that the majority of the reviews are written by accounts with only 1 review, so for felmo :)

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I’m really sorry to hear how disappointed you were with the invoice — especially since you were happy with the vet and the medical care itself.

Our vets are required to charge according to the German veterinary fee regulation (GOT), which is legally binding for all veterinarians in Germany, whether in a clinic or during a house call. Each service (check-up, injection, consultation, etc.) has a defined code, and vets must invoice the services that were actually performed. Costs can therefore differ from what you’ve paid in other practices, especially because a mobile visit includes additional time and on-site assessment that are also reflected through GOT positions — not through “extra” or hidden charges.

That said, we fully understand that €168 feels high compared to your previous experiences.

Regarding the reviews: after each appointment, we invite our customers to share feedback on platforms like Trustpilot. Many people only ever leave one review there, which is why a lot of accounts show just a single rating. However, all reviews are written by real customers — we do not purchase or generate fake reviews.

Overcharge

Do not recommend. Overcharge.
The Tierärztin provided good advice but when I received the invoice it was schoking. The invoice was 170€ when should have been 100€.
In the details of the invoice there is a 22€ charge for explaining how a medicine should be administered. And a 40€ charge to inform the processs if treatment would be needed… I find this unacceptable. These sort of things should be part of the normal appointment cost.
Do not recommend.

I paid 180€ for nothing. My cat is afraid of people and although i had talked about this to the costumer service and i was advised to prepare beforehand, the appointment was moved forward overnight so i couldn’t. The result was that the doctor couldn’t visit my cat nor even get closer. She gave me a couple of tips, for which i paid an overtime charge and sold me produts i can’t apparently use without veterinary supervision. Using felmo was a huge mistake, this is a terrible service. If you have a normal cat - be assured you’ll solve nothing. Save your self from the frustation and bring your pet to a veterinary instead.

I am extremely disappointed with Felmo and strongly advise other pet owners to be cautious.

I specifically requested an English-speaking vet twice before my appointment. This was ignored. The doctor who came to my home could not communicate properly, was stressed, rushed through the visit, and did not give me tailored advice for my cat. Despite this, I received an inflated invoice full of extra consultation fees, a vaccination certificate fee, and even a charge for disinfectant — things that should not be billed separately.

When I raised my concerns, Felmo responded with a generic explanation quoting veterinary regulations (GOT), but completely ignored the fact that the service was unacceptable. Now, they have stopped replying to my emails altogether.

What worries me most is that I have seen another review here on Trustpilot describing almost the same situation: a Felmo vet diagnosing dental problems that later turned out not to exist. This raises serious concerns for me — I am not even sure the person Felmo sent to my home was a properly licensed veterinarian. If they are giving identical “diagnoses” to multiple clients, this is extremely alarming.

I will be reporting this case to the Tierärztekammer (Veterinary Chamber) and the Verbraucherzentrale (Consumer Protection Office). I also plan to have my cat properly examined at a trusted veterinary clinic — and if their findings contradict Felmo’s claims, I will demand proof of their doctor’s license.

I encourage every other customer who has had similar experiences with Felmo to also file complaints with the Tierärztekammer and Verbraucherzentrale. Only if we act together will these practices stop.

Incompetent vet and overpriced

I had a very disappointing experience with Felmo. During a simple consultation, the vet told me my cat had no tartar buildup but diagnosed gingivitis and even mentioned that a tooth extraction might be needed. This didn’t sound right, so I went to another vet for a second opinion. The truth: my cat only has tartar buildup — no gingivitis, no extraction necessary.
On top of the misdiagnosis, Felmo charged me 144€ for a basic consultation, which is far above what is normally expected in Germany.
Recommending unnecessary treatment while overcharging for a simple visit is unacceptable. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend Felmo and strongly advise others to get a second opinion before trusting their advice.
