My child had a great time at the week-long overnight iD Tech BattleBots camp at UNC Chapel Hill. The instructors were fantastic, and the hands-on robotics projects were a big hit. His Battlebot wo... See more

instructor Andrew Smith did an excellent job working with my son who has some leaning disabilities. He just finished class #20! never seen him stick with anything that long before.
Even though Alex did not complete download prior the education level and teaching was modified and made this fun and enjoyable learning experience
iD Tech has wonderful instructors that help their students and make them feel proud of what they have accomplished! We can't wait to sign up for more lessons!
My daughter has special needs and finding an instructor that could keep her engaged and focused is important. We have found that at IDTech. She has two instructors she regularly has lessons with on two different topics. Someday, she wants to be an ID Tech instructor too!
It let my granddaughter step away from the screen and into a hands‑on world. She enjoyed every minute, gained a lot, and can’t wait to come back. Staff were fantastic.
My son had an amazing time. I wish we had learned about this sooner.
the individualized class was great and the teacher really worked and explained things.

The instructor was great with my 11 year old. She was able to keep him engaged and excited. He gave me a couple of smiles and thumbs up... I dont know about you guys and your kiddos but for an instructor to be able to keep my child engage and motivated is not easy lol. I was very impressed.

The instructor was great but wish we got a list of software to download prior to the class. We spent the entire time downloading and had about 10 mins to actually look at the software.

My son enjoyed his experience and is looking forward to more classes.

My son really enjoys his lessons with Owen Z Aguirre. He has had 6 lessons so far and he is getting a lot out of it. Owen is very engaging and also well prepared for the lesson and all my son's questions.

It's hard to keep my kid engaged in summer camps. Even if the camp is fun, it's not fun enough to want to do a second time. This is the first camp that is awesome enough to want to do a second time and even recruit a friend to join! Although this is not an inexpensive camp, it is well worth the investment. The information learned, the excitement gained about computers and technology, and the extension of opportunities to engage beyond camp has been invaluable. It's January and we are still talking about last summer's iD Tech camp and getting excited for what this summer will bring.

I’m sharing this with a heavy heart. My son attended an iD Tech summer camp in summer 2025 and experienced an assault from 2 other campers. He reported what happened to a counselor, but no action was taken to protect him, and the counselor failed to do his job. He didn't inform the camp director, though the director was aware there were other concerns with those 2 campers as they kept going into my son's room which I shared with her. As parents, we were never notified until my son finally felt safe enough to tell us last month.
When I contacted iD Tech, I was put in touch with Kimberly Frinell. Initially, she seemed sympathetic, but communication quickly became sparse and then stopped altogether. It now feels like the company is hoping we’ll just go away.
This experience exposed serious gaps in training, accountability, and most importantly child safety. There appears to be no reliable system for incident reporting, escalation, or even contacting counselors from previous years. For a program this expensive, the lack of care and follow-through is unacceptable.
id tech isn't a safe environment for children, and the way this was handled after the fact was deeply disappointing. I would strongly caution parents against sending their children here, and caution anyone considering working for them to think twice.

My son is excited and engaged for every lesson. The instructors are able to connect with him and build on his knowledge to excite him about next steps in his learning.
