The staff was phenomenal

The staff was phenomenal, professional, and patient. Experiencing wintering Monarchs before they're gone was on my bucket list. I'm eternally grateful I got to experience it. One of the staff provided me following anecdote: it's as if you're in a living kaleidoscope. So true.

The Nat Hab trip to Angangueo

The Nat Hab trip to Angangueo, Mexico to the Monarch Butterflies winter habitat was exceptional. The tour leaders were excellent, everything was well planned and even when unexpected things happened, they were quick to pivot and never missed a beat. The experience with the Monarchs was simply amazing-words are inadequate to describe.

The Nat Hab magic comes from the high level of commitment that the guides bring to the travel- everything is an educational opportunity and is presented with enthusiasm, even if you are seeing “minor”animal or environments. The teamwork to meet the needs of the guests is extraordinary.

Dear Virginia,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re very sorry for the annoyance caused by the post-trip gratuity reminders, which was certainly not our intention. We have already followed up with your travel advisor and confirmed that no further emails will be sent. Your comments are genuinely helpful in guiding those improvements, and we appreciate you bringing this to our attention.

We’re also sorry to hear about your disappointment regarding wildlife sightings. While our trips are designed to offer the best possible opportunities to see iconic species, nature is unpredictable, and we understand how frustrating that can be when expectations aren’t met.

Lastly, we truly appreciate your generosity toward Corbin. Many of our Expedition Leaders value receiving gratuities in person, and your thoughtfulness did not go unnoticed.

Thank you again for your honest feedback—it helps us continue to improve the guest experience.

Michoacan Magic

We have taken three trips with Natural Habitat Adventures and every trip has been superb. Most recently we went to see the Monarch butterflies in Michoacan Mexico and the trip was everything one could hope - well guided, well designed. I particularly enjoyed the last day at Agua Blanca with its mineral springs and great birds, a wonderful relaxation after three days in the mountains. Overall - excellent.

Waking on Christmas day to penguins

We recently finished NatHab's "Sailing Antarctica: A polar Wildlife Expedition". It was a great experience from start to end. It wasn't super luxurious so if you are looking for Antarctica with 5-star dining, big cabins, or a hot tub, this isn't the trip for you. If you want an intimate exploration of Antarctica in a small ship (very small ship) that adapts to you, this may the trip for you!

There were so many memorable experiences to choose from, it was hard to pick one to highlight in this review, but I think the most memorable was waking up on Christmas day in a 2 person tent on the continent of Antarctica, exiting the tent, and finding myself close to an inquisitive penguin who'd come up into our campsite over the night. I crawled back into the tent to not disturb the cute little guy and give him as much space as possible and watched as he eventually waddled away. What a magical Christmas experience!

Grand India Nature Safari - Absolute Perfection

We spent two weeks exploring three game parks in India. Each day was a beautiful adventure. Our host naturalist (Vineeth) was excellent, as were the local guides and lodges at every stop. We loved this trip and will be taking more trips with Nat Hab. They hit our sweet spot in nature-focused small group travel with like-minded people.

The MOST disappointing travel experience Ever!!

My husband and I did extensive research as to where in the world we could possibly have the best chance of seeing the greatest number of polar bears. Should we go to Svalbard or Churchill? And after seeing the videos and photos published by Natural Habitat, we were convinced Churchill was the place to go, and boy was that a mistake. What a bunch of propaganda they put out there. And they further convinced us to pay an ungodly amount of money to stay in a miniscule, single cubby, with shared baths at the Tundra Lodge in order to increase our chances of having the most up close and personal encounters with the bears.
First of all, on the first day in Churchill, in the tundra vehicle, we were in a group which was double the number of guests we were guaranteed.
We parked in front of a sleeping bear who was hidden within the rocks, and that was where we remained for the remainder of the afternoon. There was no searching for other bears because there were no other bears around.
That night there were no bears anywhere near the Tundra Lodge, nor were there any the entire next half day. Instead we were instructed to spend our time taking a shower or nap. Morale was at its lowest.
For the rest of our time on the tundra, we visited 3 other bears who had remained in the same place, and they were so far away from our vehicle that the only way we saw them was through a spotting scope or the high powered lens of someone's camera. They were nothing more than a speck on the horizon.
Unfortunately, the lack of bears continued for the remainder of our stay.
In addition to that, the accommodations in town were even more basic and the food was downright disgusting. No amount of ketchup or hot sauce could bring those rock hard scrambled eggs back to life. For the amount of money we were paying, couldn't Natural Habitat pay for for us to have acceptable lodging and edible food?
And the piece de resistance was the helicopter excursion. My husband and I were seated in the back seat, and were instructed by the pilot that in order to get descent photos, we needed to pull down the windows because they were so scratched and dirty.
We followed his instructions and did just that, however, after this no matter how we tried, and no matter how we followed the pilot's instructions, the window would not remain closed and continued to fall down. For the next hour of the flight, like an Arctic hare, with the frigid air roaring through the window, crying and with tears falling down my cheeks, I remained rolled up in a tight ball in an attempt to stay warm. When we finally landed, I was given additional jackets to bundle up in and was taken into the kitchen to allow hot water to run on my frozen hands to make sure I did not have frost bite.
Whether or not because of global warming or other conditions, most of the bears have moved further north, and we must question if in the future Churchill will remain a prime destination to see polar bears, who knows?
I could go on for pages, but by now you know we will never again drink the Kool Aid and NEVER again travel with Natural Habitat. We chose your company because we believed we would have the pinnacle of wildlife experiences, but that did not happen and you have completely lost our trust. The juice was not worth the squeeze.

Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re genuinely sorry your trip didn't meet your expectations and understand how disappointing that can be.

Churchill has long been one of the most reliable places in the world to see polar bears, and the Tundra Lodge is deliberately positioned to maximize viewing opportunities. That said, polar bears are wild animals, and sightings, distance, duration and behavior, are never guaranteed. Even in time-tested locations, nature can be unpredictable.

Churchill is a remote frontier town, and lodging and meals are necessarily simple. At Natural Habitat Adventures, we intentionally prioritize proximity to wildlife and time in nature over luxury accommodations. This immersive approach, being where the animals are, is central to what sets Nat Hab apart from more luxury-focused outfitters.

Our guides operate under strict permitting and conservation guidelines, which often require remaining with bears already present rather than pursuing others across the tundra. Viewing bears at a distance is also consistent with ethical wildlife practices.

We regret that the helicopter experience was uncomfortable and take safety concerns very seriously. While climate change is impacting Arctic ecosystems, Churchill remains one of the most consistently productive destinations for polar bear viewing. We appreciate your feedback and are sorry this journey fell short of what you hoped for.

Over and above!

NatHab staffers/workers go over and above to insure the comfort and enjoyment of their travelers. And,they do it with competency, friendliness and efficiency. I have some mobility issues. At the camps, on the drives, during travel everyone consistently made it as easy a possible for me to experience the most of the adventure. I am so grateful that I am still able to enjoy travel as long as I have, considering my condition. Kudos and deepest thanks.

The Galapagos trip was amazing

The Galapagos trip was amazing! The guides, Johnathan and Andres, were so knowledgeable, thoughtful and fun. They really made the trip. The Tip Top crew helpful, always a smile and comforts provided. The Chef, WOW. I was not expecting the meals. As far as Galapagos, where else can you capture penguins, marine iguanas, sea lions, crabs and sea birds all in one picture together. It was a teip like no other and I have been to 30 countries. We have already niw booked a second trip with NH and prob will do more. This type of service is rare.
