Love the shoes, very quick delivery within 2-3 days. Had some trouble with sizing and had to return but not a big deal.

I bought some shoes and needed to return them and Veja were very helpful. I got the replacements and they're all great. Thank you.

Trainers started tearing at the heel, on both shoes, after 6 months of light wear.
Veja refused to offer any sort of compensation when notified, suggesting this was a result of the natural wear of the shoe.
I heavily recommend you go elsewhere for trainers if you want them to last longer than 6 months.

Uncomfortable shoes and very slow to refund purchase price. I placed an order with Veja-Store, the official online retailer of Veja, a French company, in early December 2025. The shoes were very uncomfortable, very stiff, and the tongue was too long and cut into my ankle. I sent them back one day after I received them. They offer a 10 day refund policy once they receive the return. They notified me they had received the return. One month later, I am still waiting for my refund. I do not recommend shopping with this online retailer.

Chuffed with my new Veja. They are very comfortable and stylish. I'm a size EU 40 and bulky shoes look awful on my feet. These ones look great.

I ordered a pair of Veja trainers and couldn’t be happier with my experience. Delivery was really quick, which was a great bonus. The checkout process was easy and straightforward, making the whole purchase hassle-free. The quality and style of the trainers are top notch and they feel well made and comfortable. Definitely worth the price so far and I’d happily order again.

I noticed Becca Lee’s review from Dec 4, 2025, about her Veja shoes having problems after less than a month. I’ve experienced a similar issue: in 2025, after 11 months of use, the front seams on my shoes started separating. I have been trying to resolve this issue through a complaint for six months, but Veja has not accepted full responsibility and offered only €25 toward a repair. They suggested the damage was caused by improper wearing, which is incorrect, as the front seam near the laces is not stressed when putting on the shoes. This appears to be a recurring quality issue affecting multiple customers.
It seems that Veja is reluctant to fully accept responsibility for this recurring issue. Their approach to handling complaints relies heavily on customer photos rather than acknowledging the problem directly.

I really love that these shoes are fair trade and responsibly sourced and use non-toxic materials. In my enthusiasm for this, I bought a pair that seemed comfortable when I tried them on in the Veja London shop, but when I got them home and tried them around the house, my feet were soon in agony: they were a bit too narrow for my weird wide toes. I tried to take them back, as they were still in perfect condition. But I was told that they do not allow returns, only exchange. They had not told me this before I brought the shoes. There's no legal requirement for bricks-and-mortar shops to allow returns, but it is unusual not to, and it is best practice to display a clear sign at the till if you don't. Veja have not got any sign at the till saying exchanges only. Perhaps the shop assistant forgot to tell me becuase I asked a question. They definitely hadn't told me: if I had known, I would never have risked shopping from this company, as I know my feet are an awkward shape and I do sometimes have problems that I can't detect immediately!
They gave me credit, and I tried on other shoes, but they are all made to the exact same pointy foot shape, so there are no options that fit me - and most of them had way too much arch support as well. The next size up was too huge. The shop assistants stood there staring at me and whispering for over an hour while I walked around in a panic trying on uncomfortable shoes and trying to decide what to do, it was a horrible nightmare. One came over, and asked if I was alright, but before I could reply, her colleague called her back, and they went on staring and whispering. Eventually a new lady arrived who was lovely and actually helped me choose some shoes. But after 20 minutes my feet were in agony again: the replacement shoes were no better than the first, just prettier, but not pretty enough to destroy my feet for, even for a party!
Given that shoes have to fit, and it isn't always obvious out shopping if they don't, and wearing the wrong shoes can cause lifelong damage to your body, it's not just a question of "changing your mind". So not allowing returns is appallingly bad practice for a supposedly "ethical" shop. Especially if they don't make it clear before you buy them. And especially if all their shoes are the same shape.
Also, my mother owns a shop, and she has had some customers who spend too much in the spur of the moment and then have to return stuff due to their financial situation - she always accepts returns for full refunds, because not to do so is unethical. These are expensive shoes, and though I can afford one new pair that I can actually wear, I can't just throw away £135 and still need new shoes urgently!
Veja's system of giving credit on their in-store account, instead of a voucher (they haven't even emailed one) also makes it very difficult even to give the credit away or sell it on at a discount to reclaim some. And it appears that I can't even use the credit myself online, only in store, which is a big problem as I don't live in London, I am only visiting. I could try buying some shoes and selling them on onine, but there's no way I'd get the full amount. Veja's policy pretty much amounts to theft.
I always try shoes on in the shop and make sure I walk around a bit, but I get very stressed out shopping and prefer to be able to try shoes at home as well. But I can't just shop online because a) I am between sizes and b) I usually have to try on several styles to get one that is right, and ordering and returning 10 pairs of shoes at a time is not viable. I have never had this problem where I couldn't return shoes for a full refund in the store that I brought them before. The only other shoe shop that doesn't allow returns is Sports Direct - and Veja should know better than to behave like them.
.....
On a different note: on both occasions I visited the store, the customer service was appalling, if I asked a question the staff just stared at me and eventually admitted they didn't understand enough English. They had a system where someone took absolutely ages to find shoes in a different size from behind the scenes, then instead of someone saying the ones I'd asked for had arrived, someone else put them away again straight away before I could grab them!
If I managed to spot the box I needed before it was whisked away again, then they would only give one shoe and hid the other - no good for me because my feet are different sizes. They didn't understand when I asked for the other shoe, so I had to say it multiple times in different ways to make myself understood.
Except for the lady who turned up after an hour and tried to help, none of the staff ever smiled at me, or even frowned, it was like I didn't exist, and really weird. Other shops I visited staff varied from grumpy and flustered to lovely and helpful, but all seemed normal and functional, not acting like weird broken robots!

I love VEJA shoes. Yes, they're pricey but they're good quality and ethical. Never had issues with orders.

I had to ask for customer support and it was just great: easy to contact, fast, professional and speaking in my language!!
I got the solution in a couple of days and I got my wonderful shoes faster than the expected delivery date. It’s my 3rd pair of shoes in 3 years and I see the improvement of the brand. Well done!!!
