Be smart and look for another car…
So Carjet responded by a person called Inma, both here and in an e-mail to me.
Following are my comments to this reply:
a. No, we did not get a confirmation of our change
b. we did indeed find a telephone number on the original voucher and tried to call to get confirmation of our change. After having waited 30 mins on hold, we gave up assuming the change was ok.
c. If the car-hire company, "Fair Car Rental" (which has also lots of bad reviews) waited for us on the given flight and arrival time, they are indeed some brainless dumbos as they would have noticed on the arrivals board that the flight was cancelled. We were the only people renting a car from them on that flight so this could not have been hard. Flight OK460 on July 14th. There are many ways to follow scheduled flights and this is a an incorrect argument.
d. You might have paid and they might have recieved the money for a service/product not delivered (that is between the 2 of you) so I repeat my request for a refund. Since we were the only persons renting a car from them that day , they cannot claim loss of income due to a pre-booked car.
e. In your e-mail to me you recommend to contact the airline and claim the refund from them.
It is you and the car rental company that take my money for a product/service not delivered. The airline re-booked us for the next day without a fuss and you should be fair and refund our money. (Euro 508,-)

Be smart and look for another car rental company. Carjet has deleted all contact details from their website since the Covid-19 crisis started.
Our flight of 14.07.2020 with arrival early on 15.07.2020 in Reukjavik was cancelled by the airline. We immediately changed our car rental to the next day as the flight was going then.
No car on our arrival and no carjet representative so we were forced to hire another car from another company. After lots of searches we managed to find an e-mail address and wrote to them with the request for a refund of our Euro 508,85 (Booking CJT-34758913). We never did get a reply nor a refund. Very unprofessional and not to be trusted.
