Ok thermostat, the hub not so.

Hive thermostat is ok as a programmable room thermostat. The hub, which you need to use the features on your phone is not best, keeps dropping connection.
I'm a gas engineer and fit loads of these, it can be frustrating and time consuming to set up. No where near as good as Nest was.
You also have to subscribe to use a lot of features.

Dropouts can happen for several reasons, including router setup, signal interference, or device placement, but we’re always here to help get things running smoothly.

Hive uses Zigbee technology, which relies on a strong wireless link between the Hub, receiver, and thermostat. To help improve stability, these tips can make a big difference:

✅ Hub placement: Position the Hub at least 1 metre above the floor and away from metal, glass, or large furniture.
✅ Reduce interference: Keep it clear of TVs, consoles, or routers to minimise signal disruption.
✅ Line of sight: Where possible, keep devices positioned with fewer obstacles in between.

If the issue continues, a Hive Signal Booster can help strengthen communication in larger homes or properties with thicker walls.

If you're using a Hive Hub 3, you can also connect via Wi‑Fi instead of Ethernet to allow more flexible placement:
Hive app → Manage → Devices → Hub → Change Wi‑Fi, then follow the steps shown.
Just a note that Hive Hub Nano 3 supports 2.4 GHz Wi‑Fi only, not 5 GHz.

I also want to reassure you that the Hive app is fully functional without a subscription. All core features — including remote heating control, scheduling, and Boost — remain available at no extra cost. Hive Plus is completely optional and offers additional tools such as budgeting insights, schedule recommendations, and extended warranty cover including free device replacements. These features require additional development and support investment, but the choice to subscribe is always yours.

Terrible company

Terrible company. Once they have your bank details they seem to just increase payments, take them when they want. Moved me to higher subscription without my permission.
I really detest this company absolute leaches. Also the leads you get are from customers who budget they're own jobs which guess what, always far too low. Really is a joke

Quick turn around. Good service, great analyser. £168 though for calibration. Bent over a barrel springs to mind.

Ordered dining furniture from Birstall turned into a farce! …

Avoid ordering dining furniture!
Ordered dining furniture from Birstall store. Waited 12 weeks to be told was going to be a further 12 weeks wait.If that wasn't disappointing enough, 3 weeks later contacted me and cancelled the order!!
Offered a10% discount if we ordered different furniture, which I definitely won't be. Unfortunately I won't be stepping in any Next store again. Very poor service, if that's not messing a customer about I don't know what is.

Slow delivery, cheap feeling inferior product. Probably worth a fiver.
I'd give 4 stars for the Instagram advert though, had me fooled! Win some, loose some. Lost this time😔

Can't get hold of them.

Had my van in for warranty work.
Just reminded me why I use independent garages. Try ringing them to find out if the part has come in. Four hours, and 5 calls later, left messages and have still not got through to the Halifax peugeot branch. Poor.
