  It has taken me years to appreciate Psychonaut’s approach to progressive metal, which is equal parts post-metal and psychedelic, but now, as I have come to realise, they are a lot more distinct-sounding and coherent than several of their contemporaries. I do see some similarities to The Ocean (which is probably why I finally like Psychonaut), but the music here is less busy, less aggressive, and a bit warmer. World Maker sadly features one bad song, but the rest are total fire! Powerful stuff. Ippocalyptica

  I try not to draw comparisons but I can't shake the fact that this album really reminds me of Callisto's 2009 album, Providence. There's a similar level of experimentation and dynamics with a western/Americana feel to some of the songs that makes me feel like I'm in the late 1800s/early 1900s, and that's a really good thing, in my book! Oh Hiroshima comes out swinging in "Wild Iris" and doesn't let up for the entire 43 minute runtime. Some very cool and creative post-rock on display here! J. Wright Reviews
