There are a few characters in OFMD that, whilst not officially confirmed to be queer, are heavily implied to be so. And Wee John is one of the main ones for a few reasons:
When The Swede is on his knees infront of him, it appears the muscle memory kicks in because there is no straight explanation for this hand placement like damn-
He wears makeup as part of his everyday look, but knows how to beat a full face too and stuns in his Calypso drag attire-
Comments that it's the first time he's been on that side of a walk of shame when Ed is banished from the ship (suggesting he's usually the man that's walking away from another man)-
Loves knitting, sewing dresses (and flags) and interior design. Not just as a passing curiosity, he appears to be talented and practiced at all three-
Utterly unbothered by Lucius and Pete going at it 4ft away from him-
Genuinely compliments Lucius' drawing of Fang's literal dick-
Even has a little flirt with Izzy too when he kisses his hand and Wee John wraps his arm around his chest-
It's particularly great that all of these traits are found in a man that's 6'10, built like a brick wall, covered in tattoos, and has a penchant for lighting people/things on fire.
**and of course none of these things are definitive of being gay or straight, but short of giving everyone a relationship to confirm either way, this show often uses other indicators to imply the queer representation it provides**

gypsytaylor: WEE JOHN’S SOCKS! 🧦 I spoke about these on @biggayenergypod mentioning how these beauties never made it to screen 😔 they were knitted by my dear old friend and yarn genius @sarahshepherdmakes
The idea was that Wee John had knitted them himself.. turns out @kristiannairn knows how to knit too which made the design concept more believable
How adorable are they? 🧦
Stede's little monologue about his family being at sea now...
Leads right into him telling the Pinocchio story, but we still see Stede on screen here as this line is spoken...
Stede's wish to become a successful pirate is actually happening. He's following his heart and finding out who he truly is, helping his crew grow as people, and together changing the typical pirate culture of abuse.
He is finally living his 'real' life, not somebody else's idea of how he should live and how he should behave. Even though he's struggling at this point, he finds peace in reading to the crew, and holding on to the hope things will eventually improve
((bonus Wee John reaction)) because Stede does, against all odds, actually pull it off! He becomes a pirate and, despite its difficulties, finds love and family like he's never had before.
