Appointed yesterday. Discovered an error on my side at 9pm and fixed it. Accounts filed by 11:30pm today!

Talk about super efficient service. Wow!

I’m a PAYE employee & had a letter from HMRC regarding £6,000 I owed due to a miscalculation.

I paid for the £139 30-minute appointment and sent the HMRC tax calculations prior to the call.

The accountant hopped on the call, having not reviewed the HMRC calculations & simply reverted to saying “their calculations are accurate as it’s automated”. She did no calculations herself.

I proceeded to make payment to HMRC under her advice.

4 months later, HMRC email me with a refund of over £1,700, as they show the automated calculations were wrong.

In short, these 30 minute appointments feel like some self-employed accountants are just trying to make a quick buck in 30 minutes & don’t actually care about doing the detailed work.

I literally used ChatGPT to punch in the numbers and it showed I was overpaying immediately. I requested a refund and waiting for TaxScout to get back to me.

I can't fault the process with TaxFix. This is my 2nd year using their service. It makes compiling and uploading all of the relevant documentation really easy. My accountant was helpful & responsive when I had questions following an adjustment from HMRC.

I had big hopes with Taxfix but responses from advisers had been slow from the beginning. I booked the package with an additional consultation call for which I never got an appointment in time (4 months waiting period). I had to change advisors 3 times due to capacity constraints; eventually I was told on the last day of tax submission deadline that my advisor will only be able to finalize the work if I pay an additional fee. would recommend at all.

Really simple interface, clear instruction, fair pricing. Jon Dell who I have used twice now is patient, concise, provides clear guidance and instruction and executed the work to a high standard with a rapid turn around. Will be using again.

Tax returns made easy! Was a very clear and straightforward process, and amazing having an accountant on hand for questions. I always got a quick response, even though I was very last minute before the deadline!! Definitely will use again next time

Responsiveness and communication with the assigned accountant was poor. I started a simple self assessment at the start of January, I provided all the details and the accountant couldn’t complete it correctly before the deadline expired. I had to continuously chase him, didn’t get back within the 48 hours given. Made multiple errors with the self assessment. Due to such poor response time, I had to submit it without all my expenses so I am now out of pocket.

Accurate service, but I had to wait nearly 2 weeks to hear back from my assigned accountant, which only happened after I got in touch with support and they chased him. This was also on the 30th of January, so was leaving it a bit close for comfort. I get its a busy time of year but this did not happen the previous times of using this service.

I found the experience to be better last year than this year, having used Taxfix twice now. My tax return was completed quickly but I had a few questions which my accountant was slow to reply to this year which was stressful because the 31st January deadline was looming. I had to go through the Taxfix online web chat to ask them to ask my accountant to reply to me. Once I was happy with the tax return though it was submitted quickly. I think it is a good service if your taxes aren’t too complicated and you don’t need to communicate too much with your accountant. I would prefer it if they assigned you the same accountant each year but this doesn’t seem to be an option.
