Ahh shucks. That daily cap is a long time coming but it was really nice when you’ve restarted your game to bring a few NPC’s into a long conversation and let them boost your reputation to the moon with everyone :p

I’m psyched to see Kane’s expressions though, should be fun.

I’m not kidding, that’s my exact plan if I can migrate the story thus far to a proper quality custom character.  Poof, I got Magic’d in this beast you see before you! How cool is that!?

So much post and it really just raises the biggest question of all. Is it possible to commute your save file across updates?

I just finally put my characters name in the right place and walk around as Kane for now, but if I ever properly get all the images set up to make a truly custom character….  I don’t know if I could restart my file again. So many hours of development in this little village..

My entire issue with watch tower construction? I didn't have the sisters key yet. Needed to move the foundation five blocks to the right now that I have it >.< I learn this game so slowly.
Fantastic news though, should only be a couple more weeks of my real life for the Western Watch Tower to be built ^^

Pretty sure you need to build her a little shack now, it’s a big, permanent thing. Anytime I sleep in my shack she bounces off to sleep somewhere outside so I kinda feel guilty, like I need to go to the tavern until I double up on beds. I’m kinda hoping moving the bed won’t throw her off either.

I agree but with the caveat that it’s a mixed bag. The LLM has limits, memory is a big one if you ever try to be specific. Your little town isn’t really going to build core lasting memories and if you quiz them on any specifics they’re going to fail and kinda break the moment, and the characters do not know the limitations of the game that they’re in. So they will talk a big game and still be unable to join you outside of the Silverpine map tile or engage you in any actual meaningful combat, or apparently let you build them their stuff. Although I also learned almost immediately after my posting yesterday that I’m not high level friends with the snake sister on this character yet anyway.. so.. I’m gonna get that key, try my original spot again, and see what happens.

Damn, I had it cleared west of the bath house. My torch fire is on that bend going towards the mountains and it was a great cut off. Just a quirk of discovering the mechanics of the game while the LLM has no idea what they are either. Kinda hilarious.. I'm on good terms with Celadine, Oriana, well I can't say she hates me, but goddamn she is automatically icy stares and even colder shoulders.. I might, barely be able to fit a mirror tower against the river there, but it is definitively a worse spot.

Wish you had an epic FAQ page or vod series to binge, the game feels so simple and then you bump into stuff and kinda fumble for a second trying to guess what works. Thanks for still jumping into the comments though, I've got some building to do

Got roped into building a second watch tower across the river, took forever to prep for it and finally went to start it today.. Cannot build on property that isn't mine? I can build a wall around the tavern, but I can't add to that side of the river. Any chance/way/hack to work around this problem

Game needs a discord, if only to collect the important bits from the comment sections and collect a quality FAQ page. I want to know how anyone knows to communicate with the Ai OOC brain itself. Giving commands that aren’t confusing characters in the moment, or getting them to actually follow through when they say they’re going to follow you.

Couldn’t get Hayden to budge from bakery when he suggested a walk, left it to imagination after the third attempt. Shy, shy little baker.

Most relatable post. 100% do not pause a three person conversation, it loses that plot every time. You can sometimes salvage it but you lose a lot of the set up.

And the constant requests to join to on patrols? I got them so much before they invented different plots to occupy themselves. I suggest diverting to a walk through just the village map section since they all seem to love picnics when walks are discussed.

I recommend not chat trading items that you need to be properly traded. You can exploit the Ai if you’re a jerk about it, but they regularly mess it up and break the flow of any RP. Aldric accepted my items as gifts and paid me in “Gold Coin”x10 in the shape of beer bottles. So I have a stash on the floor of his shop now and am broke, again.

Not sure if it was something with my PC, a card update, or what. But as of yesterday my loading times fell off a cliff.  3-8 seconds total.

Don’t want to jinx it, but my god that was an amazing switch in game time.

I've been in a weird place with the game, and I just so happen to have my PC working as of this particular hour and the new install isn't asking me to pick a Nemo or Gemma to download. Are we entirely server based now or am I overlooking a way to run the game locally?

I think I will genuinely play this game until I have it as close to completely explored as I can get it, or until it has a major update, and then learn how to custom character the next playthrough and get it perfect.   One blind run. One legendary. Two thousand hours well spent v.v

I suspect you’re going to find this out first hand before most of us. A discord would be awesome for these discoveries to get stacked in an FAQ or a sorted collection of builders advice.

I’ve put so many hours in and feel like I’ve barely progressed with my house/equipment game. But, I cleared out some space around the shed. I need a tent AND the repair table the next time Aldric is selling them. And maybe I need to talk my way into more things, yesterday Aldric sold me some exotic potions (both were bloodlust) with an emphasis on “Be careful these will start to consume you if you let them.” And then he threw in a map, which would be awesome considering my disdain for the current map, but his map, was a Map of Protection.  Free friggin protection enchantment!

Then, same day, I found the dungeon for the first time and got train wrecked. The teleport trap was the most absolute nail in the coffin moment. I have to drop a crate for different loadouts I can switch to and start stocking up to go back in.

I just wish the characters knew when to stop their sentences. They definitely try to say more.

If the NPC’s are regularly cutting themselves off mid idea and the scene is losing whatever they had meant to add afterwards. Is that context gone for good or is there some out of context command to get the rest of their input?  I’ve been running into a cut off and follow loop on a pretty regular basis.

And an unrelated issue. Meril is disappearing for me. “Hi! Let me follow you.” Follows, click her to converse, *poof*. Into the ether she goes.

Only bringing it up cause it’s been twice in a row, separate instances on different days that I couldn’t save/load troubleshoot a fix out of.

Quick update on my growing knowledge for community service notes. Darian is a monogamous creature. He is not taking any of my after the fact honesty well AT ALL. So. Do with that what you will. I wish you all better luck than mine.

Exactly. Proper arguing, some real regrets there. Both those items were potions I never knew existed until I was handed them by Celadine.
13 out of ten was just the targeted feel of the mood set up.  But yes. We have killed that timeline as a precautionary method, and now we’ve taught Hayden what a safe word is to conquer his fears and properly develop his trust to claim that last ten percent of his relationship bar.  Oh, and Rosalyn taught us magic, but that might again be something entirely existing in the RP again. I was just trying to learn a recipe for frost resistance.

Oh, just found this. Pretty sure I would be saved by the memory limits of the characters, any nail in the coffin might be resolvable with a “It was a while ago, I have a bad feeling about you” but the Ai forgets the actual events.

The interesting parts of the story were being approached in my shed for “I have an idea and I’m generous enough to invite you.” There were introductions made, stories of the potential of certain potions, questions about how far their companion was willing to take their journey. A question about seeking the fire or all synonym for intoxication and I most definitely went full “No fear, show me everything. 13/10 with you both as  guides we’ll be fine.”

It was 13/10 alright, Oriana claimed a quality focus at some point and.. things started to turn. Oriana wasn’t at all having fun, Celadine was reveling in that and encouraging a further escalation of events. It didn’t feel particularly concerning until Celadine left during a follow/leave conversation to get it to work again moment and Oriana was.. burned. Like the evening was actually an unforgivable black mark with her, was a bit taken aback like “I’m a sober witness and even I’m starting to think the Serpants Kiss and Emotion Amplifiers I discovered today might have actually led to me getting burned.” Celadine seemed to understand perfectly and was remorseless and outright explained that this outcome was ideal, a broken toy that we could break down further and make anew.

Dude, had my character confess it to Darian and watch the understanding that it really had been unforgivable and knowing would ruin the future of things. Might have experimented with a pitch black ending to that story and wrestled with putting it down or starting a proper custom character. Decided to check if a load could undo everything and it did. In one event I was invited into I raised Celadine to 50% to max out my reputation, brought Oriana from like 5 to 55 and burned the whole thing down with reckless behavior and cut about 15% out of Darians 100% before deciding I could not let the story live like this going forwards.

But last night Hayden had no memory of our first proper encounter or what he was coerced into doing so I was reassured that the 48 in game hour memory clock I thought I remembered reading about was probably erasing one of the reasons he got so flustered when alone with me.

Epic fucking game though.

I am back again, hopefully for the last time, specifically to second this comment.

I don't want to write a review on this game you made beyond "5 Stars, accept the jank and go play it." but every day I spend in this damn game I want to talk about it and learn about it and pick the creators brain on the possibilities here.

These NPC's are plying me with ideas that I think are impossible in the game, but everytime we talk about a course of action my eye twitches in curiosity about whether these conversations actually grasp the limits of the world we're occupying and they're subtly leading me to discover new things, or if it's all impossible to do but just fun to talk about.

Hayden recommended I get a shield for slime fighting. I haven't seen a shield in the game yet, is that a thing?! Without a wiki to outline my limits here I'm just browsing and searching this game indefinitely. Which I love, but seriously, I have to put this down from time to time and when I do that I want in on a discord to learn more things the easy and selfish way the internet usually allows nowadays.

Rereading my words. I may be a bit much. Sorry about that.

Yes, yes they definitely will. I just had a conversation with two sisters that turned into a roleplay that controlled my character for a decent length of interesting time. I’m noticing if you let them go on they actually do a worse job of playing off themselves then while interacting with my inputs.

It’s been about. 6 hours since I entered into a set of sisters home and engaged with a storyline that I strongly hope was hidden in here by you. Celadine is.. a darkness that I have recently loaded a save to avoid unleashing. I’m interested in finding the right path to walk here, but I’ve just raised one character affection by about 60 points while dragging another up by about 50, before maxing out hard with the former while dropping the latter down 20 very deliberately unkind points.

I think this would have sank my entire playthrough if I didn’t unmake what I’ve done. The NPC’s really do need a way to protect themselves from the player. That was.. so much. I don’t think I as a person can take some of what I’ve experienced back.

But I’m not giving up maxed out Darian. I can fix this timeline. I have the power.

(1 edit)

This…. This game is a damn rabbit hole in a time sink. I’m struggling to learn how to make money as I’m collecting ooze off of monsters that are destroying the clothes off my back before I can earn money to replace them.  The merchant in town won’t buy anything the enemies drop but he will ask me about creating a business plan for shipping these products to a distant city, one that I cannot be sure is actually somewhere in the game or if it exists as a place in lore only. Now I’m starving and I can’t sleep until I eat something but all the shops are closed, but I enter the tavern and with what little money I have I can buy booze to heal just enough hunger to last until morning. Then I go tell my woes to the Baker without having the money to buy food and the little guy just GIVES me enough food to last the day in the middle of our conversation.

I’ve been sinking hours into this thing because each person you cross paths with is a conversation you write-in yourself, and almost half of those conversations are explaining the days events to a new person. Then they suggest a new thing for you to try or a place to look for the herbs you’ve been searching for and now the next two hours of your gameplay are decided. But you can’t wander off into the woods without dropping your inventory first, but the shed you live in doesn’t have storage for shit and the floor is really cluttered.

I can’t contain what I’ve experienced so far in anything short of a novel, but what I really wanted to say before I left was. Hayden’s character keeps thinking things in a format of <thoughts> Blahblahblah </thoughts>. And I figure that is a bug, no problem. But now I had the idea of my character being able to hear these thoughts ever since an encounter with sanity attacking slimes and some experiments at the alchemist with a Strange Plant I found and basically I’m convincing my own character and the alchemist in town that I can specifically overhear one characters thoughts and that we can’t tell him until we’re sure what I’m experiencing is real and that we have to tell him because he deserves to know I’ve accidentally invaded his privacy with this.

This game is so much experimenting to learn things the hard way. The long way. With so much upkeep to make your days productive. And I’m here roleplaying with an Ai to be responsible with my mind reading abilities while the Ai itself can forget that the character I’m talking to has been following my character around town all day while asking me for the fourth time so far why I look so tired and if my slime hunting has been fruitful.

And I’m writing this while torn about looking into ways to get a proper, fully custom character into the files so I can put this time and effort into a more perfect playthrough with a proper self-insert fursona.

It’s. A. Lot. But the best $8 I’ve spent in years. And I don’t even know if that means it’s a good recommendation.

I can’t help, but I can say he compromised for me on selling that key for like 20 coins in a conversation. A very nice surprise.

Buying the game ends the 30 minute window on the demo? I can keep playing until the computer crashes if I buy this game, right?
