Liquipedia:Notability Guidelines

From Liquipedia Arena FPS Wiki

Please note that inclusion of pages in mainspace is ultimately up to the discretion of the Liquipedia administrators

Sadly, not everything can be added to the wiki. We want all our pages to be as up-to-date as possible and to meet our quality standards in general. That is made harder the more pages are created, not to mention additional factors, such as the fact that lower ranked teams tend to not have social media where they announce transfers, and so on.

Now, these are not non-negotiable. This wiki contains coverage of certain teams, players and scenes that do not actually meet our guidelines, yet we allow them because there is an active volunteer(s) that keeps those pages of high-quality. This however does not mean that we will allow you to create a page for your team just because you say you will keep it up to date. On the other hand, if you were to be highly interested in, say, keeping the Spanish national scene up to date, then go ahead! In the cases where this is not the case however, all of this means we have to prioritize: we try to keep our coverage to just the top and the sub-top tier of competitive Arena FPS as defined by the guidelines below. Any pages that do not meet these guidelines will not be deleted, but will be moved to your user space.

If you disagree with the decision for a certain page, please do come chat in our Discord.

Guidelines

Players

[edit]

Who and what to add?

[edit]

Players may receive their individual pages, as long as they surpass a certain threshold of notability. Check the bullet points below. If your chosen player fits at least one of these, then they are likely notable to warrant a page on this wiki.

  • Achievements:
  • If the player has earned at least $250 USD in tournaments (determined by the earnings displayed in the Infobox)
  • Has had at least one notable result in an S-Tier Tournament (always up to discretion of Liquipedia administrators)
  • Has attended several A-Tier Tournaments with at least one notable result (always up to discretion of Liquipedia administrators)
  • Sponsored: If the player is a notable member of a major team, preferably already with its own page on the Arena FPS Liquipedia.

To create a new player page, follow the Player Template.

Teams

[edit]

A Team may receive a team page, as long as it surpasses a certain threshold of notability. If your chosen team has at least one top class player (reached a finals or two semifinals or three quarterfinals in Premier Tournaments) or fits at least two of the bullet points below, then it is likely notable to warrant a page on this wiki.

  • The team is a well-established esport organisation with a number of sponsors;
  • The team has at least one notable player who has reached the round of 8 in a Major or Premier event or at least two players with a Liquipedia page in main space;
  • The team has achievements in team leagues with a Liquipedia page.

Tournament Organizers

[edit]

Tournament Organizers may receive their individual pages, as long as they surpass a certain threshold of notability. Check the bullet points below. If your chosen Tournament Organizers fits at least one of these, then they are likely notable to warrant a page on this wiki.

  • If the Tournament Organizer has run 2 or more Premier Tournaments.
  • If the Tournament Organizer has run 5 or more Major Tournaments.
  • If the Tournament Organizer has run 25 or more Tournaments with (in average) each a prize pool of at least $50 USD per event.

Leagues and Tournaments

[edit]

Tournaments should only be added if they award a cash prize of any amount over $50 for a solo (1v1) or team event. Exceptions can be made for Weekly and Monthly events that run consistently for a long time, in total adding up to more than $100.

The only tournaments that should be added that don't award cash prizes are qualifier events for larger tournaments.

Liquipedia Tiers

[edit]

Leagues and tournaments are classified with the following Liquipedia Tiers:

Tier Description
Premier/S-Tier These tournaments offer an outstanding prize pool, are almost exclusively played offline,

and feature the best players from the scene. They are commonly held by well-established organizers and are considered especially prestigious amongst the community.

Major/A-Tier These tournaments offer a substantial prize pool, can be played both offline and online, and feature some of the best players from the scene. They are commonly held by well-established organizers and are considered especially prestigious amongst the community.
Minor/B-Tier These tournaments offer at least a $1,000 prize pool when played online and a prize pool over $300 when played offline. They are preferably held by established organizers in the scene.
Minor/C-Tier These tournaments offer a prize pool of no more than $1,000 when played online and no more than $300 when played offline.
Monthly Monthly tournaments are tournaments that occur regularly and most often as monthly events.
Weekly Weekly tournaments are tournaments that occur regularly and most often as weekly events.
Show Match Usually two top players are invited to play a BoX series against each other. Some times they adopt a King of The Hill "winner stays on" format. These events often feature well-known players or highly-anticipated matchups that might never come to pass in a regular tournament.
Qualifier Qualifier tournaments that lead to events with a larger prize pool.

User pages

[edit]

Completely optional, but make your userpage a good indication of who you are! Feel free to be friendly or use some Userboxes to spruce things up.
