CODM World Championship (abbreviated as CODM Champs) is the official world tournament for Call of Duty: Mobile, organized by Activision and sponsored by different brands as Sony(2020-2021),ROG(2022),Samsung(2023-2024),OnePlus(2025).[1]

Format

STAGE I – SOLO PLAY. In Stage 1, Players will compete as an individual to accrue CODM World Championship Tournament points. Stage 1 – Solo Play will be available weekly, Thursdays through Sundays, for four (4) weeks.

STAGE II - TEAM PLAY. In Stage 2, Teams will compete to accrue CODM World Championship Tournament Points. Stage 2 – Team Play will commence in the weeks following the conclusion of Stage 1 – Solo Play. Dates and times will be made available prior to Stage 2.

STAGE III - REGIONAL QUALIFIERS. In Stage 3, Teams will compete in regional double elimination tournaments hosted on GameBattles in order to advance to subsequent competitions. For 2023 and 2024 Stage 3 will be hosted by ESL Teams who win their Match will advance to the next round of the Winners Bracket. Teams who lose one (1) Match will be sent to the Elimination Bracket. Teams who lose a Match in the Elimination Bracket will be eliminated from the Tournament. The top eight (8) Teams of the Stage 3 Tournament will advance to Stage 4 and will be seeded in the Stage 4 winners bracket based on their Stage 3 tournament results.

STAGE IV - REGIONAL PLAYOFFS. Teams that qualified from Stage 3 will co]mpete in their respective Stage 4 regional tournament (a “Regional Playoff”) in order to advance to the Stage 5 2021 World Championship Finals (”World Championship Finals”). For each Regional Finals, Teams will compete in a double elimination bracket. Teams who win their Match will advance to the next round of the Winners Bracket. Teams who lose one (1) Match will be sent to the Elimination Bracket. Teams who lose two (2) Matches will be eliminated from the Tournament.

From 2023 Stage 4 will be replaced by Snapdragon Pro Series tournament organized by ESL.[2] . The format is divided into 2 stages:

  • Challenge Season: According to the region, this stage has the following format:
    • For NA, LATAM, Europe Round Robin Single match. Every match is Bo5. Top 4 teams qualify for the Challenge Finals.
    • For India Region - Top 16 teams are divided in two groups and use the Round Robin system for each group. Every match is Bo5 Top 4 teams for each group qualify for the Challenge Finals.
    • For Japan Region - Top 8 teams are divided in two groups. Using GSL Format. Top 2 for each group qualify for the Challenge Finals.
  • Challenge Finals: Double elimination Bo5 format except for the Grand Final which will be Bo7.

STAGE V - GLOBAL FINALS. LAN event joins the 16 best teams of the Regional Qualifiers.

History

2020

The Final LAN event was scheduled to take place in United States Los Angeles, US. It was cancelled due to the Covid-19 Pandemic.[3].All Teams (excluding Vietnam Oxygen Esports) will each recieve $107,000 equally from the $750,000 prize pool.

2021

The Final LAN event was cancelled due to the restrictions of Covid-19 Pandemic. It was replaced by an online event called East Finals and West Finals where 12 teams participated in each Final. Tribe GamingTribe Gaming Tribe Gaming in the West Final and Blacklist UltimateBlacklist Ultimate Blacklist Ultimate in the East Final were the respective champions.

2022

For the first time ever, the LAN Final was hosted in United States Raleigh, NC on December 15-18 and crowned Tribe GamingTribe Gaming Tribe Gaming as the first ever Call of Duty Mobile World Champion.

2023

With the ESL as the new tournament organizer. The final LAN event was hosted in United States Atlanta as part of ESL DreamHack Atlanta 2023 event on December 15-17. $1,000,000 USD will be spread among the participants.For this edition, the available slots were reorganized, reducing Europe to 2 slots and increasing China to 3. This tournament was known for its surprises. GodLikeGodLike GodLike won Luminosity GamingLuminosity Gaming Luminosity Gaming 3-2 on aggregate. Finally,WolvesWolves Wolves defected GodLikeGodLike GodLike with a score of 4:2. This is the first time that a team from Asian team is crowned champion of the tournament.

2024

For the second consecutive year it was organized by ESL in United States Atlanta as part of ESL DreamHack Atlanta 2024.
This year the final was once again between 2 Asian teams. ElevateElevate Elevate was crowned champion without losing a single game. They won the final against Qing Jiu ClubQing Jiu Club Qing Jiu Club with a score of 4-0.

2025

The event will take place from November 7 to 9. For the first time, the event will be held outside the United States, with Poland Katowice, Poland, being chosen as the venue. Among the most significant changes is the reduction in the prize pool, which will now be $850,000.Stand Point GamingStand Point Gaming Stand Point Gaming never participated in CODM World Championship,due to visa issues,OUGOUG OUG replaced them.
The world champion was Qing Jiu ClubQing Jiu Club Qing Jiu Club, which took revenge for the previous year against Elevate with an agregated score of 4-3, becoming the second China Chinese team to win this tournament.

  • It will also be the debut of a team from the African region.
