Complexity (abbreviated as COL and formerly stylized as Complexity Gaming and compLexity Gaming) is an American esports organization founded in 2003. It was briefly known as Los Angeles Complexity in Counter-Strike: Source during the Championship Gaming Series. Complexity Gaming is one of the oldest esports organizations still active in the Counter-Strike scene, first fielding a Counter-Strike team as early as 2004.
In 2017, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and real estate investor John Goff acquired a majority stake in the organization. [1] Two years later, Complexity Gaming opened its new headquarters, the GameStop Performance Center, located within The Star, the Dallas Cowboys' World Headquarters, in Frisco, Texas. [2] In 2021, Canadian digital-media agency GameSquare Esports acquired the organization, simultaneously announcing expanded collaboration with the Dallas Cowboys, as well as the Jones and Goff families. [3]
In 2024, Complexity Gaming was re-acquired by an investor group led by Jason Lake for $10.36 million from GameSquare as the company sought to acquire FaZe Clan. [4]
