Tang "71" Wenyi is a Dota 2 coach who last coached Keen Gaming.

Biography

[edit]

71 is notable for coaching teams, such as EHOME, Team DK, and Mineski. A popular figure in China, he has previously coached Chinese Counter-Strike teams dating back to 2003 and later coached EHOME during DotA Allstars, resulting in their rise to prominence.[1][2]

At The International 2011, he coached EHOME to the grand finals before losing to Natus Vincere 3-1, thus finishing in 2nd place. He was also featured in Valve's documentary of the first International, "Free To Play", in 2012. He later coached and managed Team DK during the 2013-14 season winning several premier tournaments internationally. After the breakup with DK, following TI4, he returned to his former club, EHOME for a short stint.

With several requests from former Team DK player Mushi to be his coach[3], 71 was later named coach of Mineski in January 2018. In April 2018, he coached Minesi to a Major championship, at DAC 2018, where his team beat LGD Gaming 3-2 in the grand finals. The win saw Mineski become the first team from South-East Asia to win a Valve Major.[4][5]
