Sylvester "Link" Hoelgaard (born April 19, 1992) is a retired Danish player who last played for Meet Your Makers.
His brother is Ace.
Biography

[edit]Link started playing Dota in 2004. He describes his first year with the game:
"6 years ago I played a lot of TD with my friends on bnet. DotA was getting hosted more and more frequently and I decided to join a game by myself, i hated it cuz i died all the time n probably left a lot of games. Then I got my first killing spree with Bloodseeker n have been hooked since then."[1]
Link started his competitive Dota career in a team called "Back To Basics", in early 2009.[2][3] He moved on to play with "RapE" before joining NORDIC-eSport.
Dota 2
[edit]Link's Dota 2 career began at The International 2011, where his team NORDIC-eSport were a reserve team. He left them not long after the event to join another all-Danish team, NeVo.[4][5] NeVo were shortly thereafter dropped by their sponsor and changed their name to monkeybusiness. They attended ESWC 2011 and achieved 4th place.
In November 2011 monkeybusiness were picked up by SK Gaming.[6] They went to DreamHack Winter 2011 where they finished 3rd. This was to be their only notable result under the SK tag however, as the organization dropped them in January 2012.[7] This would be the start of an intense period of sponsor switching for the Danish squad. They played for DD.Dota for about a month and were then picked up by Quantic Gaming.[8] They stayed there for two months, and then the full squad except for Link in April 2012 joined Eclypsia.[9]
Link went teamless for a while during Summer 2012, as he did his army duty.[10] He played as a stand-in for The Tough Bananas (later known as Copenhagen Wolves) a few times.[11] After a while he grew into the squad on a permanent basis, and when the team was picked up by Meet Your Makers in October 2012 he was officially on the six man roster.[12] The MYM roster did not work out as planned and in November they combined with ShibaGaming to form a new version of DD.Dota.[10] Link and some fellow Danes stayed on the team until March 2013.
In May 2013 Link was announced on Lions Pride's new roster.[13] Despite no notable tournament finishes the team remained together even though they lost their sponsor, and subsequently changed name to Team Life, in July 2013.[14] The following month Link's brother Ace joined the team replacing Mini, which made the roster all Danish.[15] It also meant that the team had one carry player too much, and so Link switched to playing support.
