Shards are a form of in-game currency earned by Dota Plus subscribers or through guilds. Now can be earned from guild contracts and challenges. They are used to purchase exclusive rewards from the in-game Shard Shop.
Obtaining Shards
[edit]- Some shards can be obtained by players without Dota Plus.

Rewards

Cosmetics
[edit]- Cosmetic items can be purchased with shards. Prices can vary.
- Hero sets and tools can only be purchased by everyone. Relics, treasures, and Chat Wheel sounds can only be purchased by Dota Plus members.
- Some items are exclusive to the Shard Shop, and can only be obtained with shards.
- Older items that were previously released can also be purchased with shards. These are called legacy items.

Relics

Relics are counters that track a hero's actions and statistics. Each hero has ten common Relics and four rare Relics that can be purchased with shards.
