User talk:Dark Eagle

From Liquipedia Dota 2 Wiki

Hi, Sorry; I am awful at image editing. I would recommend either asking on our IRC channel or sending a message to another frequent image editor, such as XMS or Tephus. Thank you for doing that, however! Elyvilon (talk) 03:56, 28 September 2015 (KST)

Hey, noticed you're working on the EU Open Qualifier in your Sandbox. I already went through the Round of 32 and took care of it all, I believe. Didn't want you to waste any time, but obviously feel free to edit in whatever I might have missed. FaZ- (talk) 06:05, 7 October 2015 (KST)

ty, i'll do... Goin to expand it to Round of 64 --Dark Eagle (talk) 06:16, 7 October 2015 (KST)

Adding new team template

[edit]

When adding new team templates, I recommend using Special:CreateTeams. It makes everything much easier. Thanks for doing it!

Thanks a lot) --Dark Eagle (talk) 09:26, 7 October 2015 (KST)

I actually have no idea where to find it, I've just been basing it off of dotabuff results. And probably on EHOME.K.

Dynamic tabs

[edit]

Hey thanks for telling me, i had fixed it already in the template, but some pages have an old cached version. If you see any of them, just click refresh at the top of the page. --FO-nTTaX (t,c) 07:45, 10 January 2016 (KST)

Original Squad

[edit]

I don't know if you're the one who originally started the "Original Squad" trend on this Liquipedia in particular but I've noticed you're the one who's made those changes over on OpTic Gaming, VGJ.Storm and The Final Tribe. I'm from the Counter-Strike Liquipedia but I sometimes browse this one and the Overwatch one, I was inspired by the Original Squad edit and I decided to use it on a couple of the pages over there to make things more readable for new users and such - I also did that to help tidy up the pages as I found you have to scroll down a lot to find what you're looking for and this also helps separate squads like it has done on this Liquipedia (i.e. The International *year* Squad). Those changes however were reverted by other higher class users because they were "redundant", "cluttering" and because they use the original Former Squad for older squads which personally I think doesn't make a whole lot of sense. I had this discussion on the Liquipedia discord through the #counterstrike channel, I have a few snips of the conversation if you do want to look at them: https://imgur.com/a/Xat7w

A few of the pages to name I've done the Original Squad thing on (if you're bothered to go back to older revisions of the pages of course) are counterstrike:Titan, counterstrike:Team EnVyUs, counterstrike:100 Thieves, counterstrike:OpTic Gaming and counterstrike:Rise Nation.

If you're the one who originally started this trend on the Dota 2 Liquipedia, how come you thought of this idea and what does it serve? I'm just curious because I like the idea a lot and it's good that the Dota 2 Liquipedia enjoys this idea (I think?) but it definitely seems like there is a misunderstanding on the Counter-Strike Liquipedia and I'm too not sure why.

Thank you in advance.

Don't know how it is on cs, but here we started to separate section "former" as it is on timeline (by years) . Before this 'originality' we used some topics like here. Mb as synonyms u can try to use smthing like "1st signed squad" and then move on by years or something... (just like in Navi we have players who dont change team for years) --Dark Eagle (talk) 15:22, 30 January 2018 (UTC)

Forward from CS:GO:GoodJob v FCDB Esport

[edit]

When moving a page please be sure to follow through and actually update the team's name and team templates. I don't know how they do things on the Dota 2 piddy, but these steps just be taken or else it breaks certain things on the site and it is rather unsightly. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask as it appears that you have not made many edits on the CS:GO piddy. Additionally, I recommend joining our Discord here: https://discord.gg/yPttJJu so that you can collaborate and receive feedback on your work.

Thanks,

coaches

[edit]

we don't add coaches to online qualifiers, why this time? Steventcyh (talk) 21:00, 11 July 2019 (UTC)

looking at the last past years TI's quals coaches always was added --Dark Eagle (talk) 21:03, 11 July 2019 (UTC)
After the "coach" update of the teamcard (from cs wiki), we add coaches everywhere at the beginning. but it' not that correct for dota imo. Now coaches are only "available" for LAN games after Valve's new rule, like a default thing currently. so I would fix them from the old pages gradually. Steventcyh (talk) 21:25, 11 July 2019 (UTC)
ok, i won't pretend --Dark Eagle (talk) 15:53, 12 July 2019 (UTC)
