Floating crystal islands hang above the flooded halls and caverns of Crystal Shores. One may find their way through underground corridors, reaching large open spaces where these prism platforms are suspended in the air. Painful shards litter the toxic, watery floor below, and it would be wise to think twice before crossing. The Exalted Grilla does not hesitate, drilling its massive spiked tail into the crystal ground and swinging forward, ready to leap and jab its sharp arms into a pink island.

Biology

Physiology

The Exalted Grilla has striking red fur and scythes on its arms as imposing as its will. Black stripes line its fur, wrapping around its tail to the dominating jagged pike at the end. With quick reflexes and strong, lengthy arms, the Exalted Grilla moves swiftly around any and all obstacles. The dark crown on its head curves inward like a claw, tipped with liquid crystal that matches the glowing crater in its rocky skull and luminous eyes. There’s a triple slash scar across its rock-plated chest, mere lines compared to the staggering spikes along its shoulders. An astonishing sight to behold, the Exalted Grilla's face is surrounded by whiskers that swash together in a peculiar form resembling wings.

Behaviour

The Exalted Grilla has a brilliant mind and is an excellent climber with a strategic approach. It uses its agile tail for balancing and carving handholds into crystal walls. If a platform is sturdy enough, it jabs into it with its tail and anchors itself as it swings. The Exalted Grilla explores the underground routes in Crystal Shores, carefully probing an area to ensure safety from cave-ins. It occasionally hacks at the walls, carving new doorways or excess spaces within a room. When the Exalted Grilla spots another Illuvial trapped in an obscure area, it may help them out. However, it may leave them stuck elsewhere if they are too noisy and become a bother.

• The Exalted Grilla is an excellent climber with many tactics to support its movement. Sometimes, it uses its agile tail to pierce through rock and support its entire weight as it carves into cave walls with its sharp hands, making better handholds.
• The Exalted Grilla relies on smaller Illuvials to aid its grooming because its scythe-like hands cannot coordinate delicate movements without inflicting damage. In return, it offers protection from predators.
• The Exalted Grilla is quick on its feet and often seems to disappear when it leaps only to reappear elsewhere.
