Chronology
The 2022 Asian Games is a continental multi-sport event held every four years among athletes from all over Asia. The event is recognized by the International Olympic Committee as the second largest multi-sport event after the Olympics. The 2022 edition will host League of Legends as an Official Medal Sport and will feature the national teams selected by the 45 members of the Olympic Council of Asia.
Format
[edit]- The top participating team from each region in Road to Asian Games will receive a bye to the Knockout Stage.
- Group Stage
- 11 participating teams will be split into 3 groups of 3 teams and 1 group of 2 teams.
- The Kuwait team was originally included in the participating list, but decided to withdraw right before the group draw.
- Teams in same group will play a single round-robin format.
- All matches are played in a Bo1.
- Group winners advance to Knockout Stage.
- Tiebreakers:
- Head-to-head record
- Average time of victories
- Number of tower takedowns
- Number of kills
- Total gold earnings
- Tiebreaker game(s), broken using the criteria above
- Drawing of lots
- 11 participating teams will be split into 3 groups of 3 teams and 1 group of 2 teams.
- Knockout Stage
- The 4 group winners, as well as the 4 seeded teams entering the competition in this round, will play in a single-elimination bracket.
- All the matches are played in a Bo3.
