Beyond Gaming was a Taiwanese esports organization competing in the LoL Pacific Championship Series.
History
[edit]Beyond Gaming was formed in 2021 by the acquisition of AHQ e-Sports Club's PCS slot by former professional player DinTer. With a roster of Liang, HuSha, Husky, Doggo and Kino. This team placed 2nd in their debut split, losing against PSG Talon in the 2021 Spring Finals. Doggo was loaned to PSG Talon for MSI 2021, but returned to the team after this loan period with a 3-4th place finish. Building on this success, Beyond Gaming stuck with the same roster heading into Summer. This is where they once again finished second, beating PSG Talon in their first time, but eventually losing 3-2 in the finals. With a second place in the PCS, Beyond Gaming qualified for Worlds 2021 in their debut year. After their 3-2 reverse sweep win against Galatasaray Esports earlier on the day, news started surfacing about Maoan leaking draft information for betting purposes. [1] Later that night, LoL Esports announced that Maoan was banned for the rest of Worlds 2021. [2] PK took over the mid-lane spot against Hanwha Life Esports, which Beyond Gaming lost 3-0 to place 17-18th at the event.
Ahead of 2022, Beyond Gaming signed Likai, Minji, SeNBon and Wako to expand to an 8-man roster, while Maoan left the team. [3] Despite a strong mid-season, Beyond Gaming lost to Deep Cross Gaming and J Team to place 5-6th in the PCS 2022 Spring Playoffs. With the same roster for Summer, the team once again finished the regular season with an 11-7 record. In playoffs, Beyond Gaming took out reigning champions PSG Talon but fell 3-0 to CTBC Flying Oyster to finish second and qualify for the Worlds 2022 Play-in Stage. On September 12th, Beyond Gaming Academy was introduced in the Asia Star Challengers Invitational, featuring former players Maoan and TNS.
