The LPL 2015 Summer split was the second split of the LoL Pro League (LPL) season, organized by Tencent Games and Riot Games from 22 May to 23 August 2015 at the Shanghai E-Sports Arena. Twelve teams competed in a Double Round Robin Bo2 Group Stage followed by a Gauntlet and Single Elimination Bo5 Playoffs. Two teams entered through the Summer Promotion—Masters 3 and Unlimited Potential—the latter formed when Vici Potential Gaming acquired Gamtee's slot. From the LSPL pathway, Qiao Gu Reapers and Royal Never Give Up qualified by winning their brackets, with RNG formed after Royal Club acquired Vici Potential Gaming's slot. Championship Points determined the first Chinese seed for the 2015 World Championship, with the next four teams advancing to the Regional Finals.

Format

  • Group Stage
    • Double Round Robin Bo2
      • A 2-0 victory gives the winning team 3 points
      • A 1-1 tie gives both teams 1 point
      • 1st and 2nd place advance to the Semfinals of the Playoffs.
      • 3rd till 5th place advance to the Quarterfinals of the Playoffs.
      • 6th place advance to the Gauntlet second round.
      • 7th and 8th place advance to the Gauntlet first round.
      • 9th till 12th place will have to play in the Promotion Tournament.
  • Playoffs
    • All matches are Bo5
    • Stage 1 is a 4-team King of the Hill bracket
      • 7th and 8th place face off in the first round
      • Winner faces 6th place team
      • Winner qualifies for quarterfinals and faces 5th place team in a reseeding match
    • Stage 2 is single elimination
      • 3rd and 4th place face Gauntlet finalists based on who won the reseeding match
      • Winners move on to Semifinals to face 1st and 2nd place
      • Losers move to the 3rd place match, winners play in the finals
      • The team with the most Championship points qualifies for the World Championship as China's 1st seed
      • Next 4 teams in the points ranking qualify for the Regional Finals
