From Liquipedia Rainbow Six Wiki
Welcome to Liquipedia
[edit]Hello, and welcome to Liquipedia. Thank you for joining us, and we hope you decide to stick around to help and to contribute.
Contributing to the wiki is actually pretty easy and keep in mind that every more-right-than-wrong contribution is valuable no matter how small.
If you want to know a little bit more about how editing a wiki works we've got two help pages to get you started:
If you need further help or want to keep in touch with us, you can find us on our Discord.

DreamHack Photos
[edit]When uploading DH photos, it would be preferred if you use the premade fill-in found here (https://liquipedia.net/commons/Copyrights_Repository#DreamHack) as it makes it easier to see all of DreamHack's photos and meet their standards for letting us use them.
Thanks,

Player transfers
[edit]Hello and thank you for your contributions to the player transfers.
Remember when making transfers for players going inactive or retiring, could you add |status=from-team after the reference and before the curly brackets please? Same thing for when a player returns from inactivity or retirement, but add |status=to-team instead.
The reason being is because when you add Inactivity or Retired/Retirement the transfer will be treated as if the player has been exchanged to another team. The chances are you probably didn't know how to add the background onto the transfer or you just weren't sure, which is perfectly fine because it's a learning experience like many have faced and I will explain why this happens a lot. I've actually seen this happen a lot across even other wikis, especially with newer contributors.
When a player leaves a team, it will automatically change the status to from-team which makes transfer background a pinkish red. When a player joins a team, it's the opposite and automatically changes the status into to-team which makes the transfer background light green. When a team-to-team transfer is done, the status becomes transferred which keeps the background white.
You used to have to add the backgrounds manually on the old wiki to mark that a player had joined, left a team (either as a free agent, gone into inactivity or retirement) or simply moved from one team to another. However with the new wiki, the statuses are done automatically which saves a bit of time and also a bit of typing (or copying and pasting). The system that Liquipedia has set up on the new wiki has not detected any other special strings like Inactivity, Retired or Retirement since it was built so regardless, it will treat the transfer as if a player moved from one team to another - and it is something I've been pushing the staff to fix every so often.
Hopefully that will help you in the future and I hope none of this is too confusing for you. I simply wrote this to you so you're aware that those functions still exist and |status=from-team should be used when you're marking a player inactive or retired. If you have any other questions, let me know through replying or otherwise getting hold of me elsewhere, all of my other contacts are on my user page on the Counter-Strike wiki :)
