Aleksey "Abver" Drunin (born December 11, 1987) is a retired Russian Protoss player who last played for Vega Squadron.

Wings of Liberty

[edit]

After the release of the game, Abver started to play Random, in order to try every race. He finally chose Zerg.

In January 2011, Abver got one of the two spots granted by community voting for the Black Dragon League. This tournament was a tough event, as he finished next to last with only three victories (against Kas, MaNa, and elfi) for a total of 11 losses.

In February 2011, Abver was invited to SteelSeries StarCraft 2 Challenge, which should have been his first time at a premier event, but he could not enter Finland due to visa issues.[1]

Heart of the Swarm

[edit]

After releasing HotS, Abver again started to play Random, but finally switched to Protoss.

On July 3, Abver announced his departure from RoX to seek motivation.[2]

On July 22, Abver is announced as being a part of Vega Squadron.[3] On February 2, 2014 he leaves Vega due to his inactivity.

Trivia

[edit]
  • Abver was a notable European Warcraft III player, playing as Undead, and a successful 2v2 Warcraft III player.[4]
  • When he played to Warcraft III for the first time, he hated the game. Fortunately, his best friend encouraged him to continue playing, and Abver eventually became addicted to Warcraft III.[5]
  • He once claimed to dislike big teams like Evil Geniuses or SK Gaming, saying that they weren't really teams, but just sponsored players playing under the same tag.[6]
