"Veralynn" is a female Irish Zerg player, streamer, and caster, who became popular after achieving Grand Master status and scoring a string of good results in August and September 2012.

On September 24 she was accused of perpetrating a fraud by getting the Romanian Zerg player DeathAngel to play under her name. Evidence gathered and analyzed by KawaiiRice, Gretorp and desRow^[1] eventually led her to admit that she paid DeathAngel at first to elevate her ladder rank to Grand Master, then stream with her account, and to finally play under her name in tournaments and showmatches.^[2]

Under the false pretense of being a high level player she earned money through coaching and streaming analysis shows of 'her' replays, and gained fame by appearing on interviews and other shows. She later claimed that she has returned the money she falsely obtained from coaching and tournament winnings.^[3]

Wings of Liberty

On Season 7, her Battle.net accounts achieved Grand Master status on both the North American and European ladder a feat later attributable to the service she purchased from DeathAngel.^[2] On July 29, 2012, she was invited to the AGL-August Invitational. For her first professional appearance, VeraLynn's account performed exceptionally well, taking down HwangSin and Shuttle (Korean Terran) and eventually losing 1-3 to HyuN, finishing in 3rd place overall. These results as well can be attributed to DeathAngel playing as her.^[2]

On September 24, 2012, KawaiiRice, backed by Gretorp and desRow, accused her of having usurped her fame, as she allegedly had DeathAngel playing on her account on both her streaming sessions and during several showmatches.^[1] She has admitted to this and claims to have retired from the professional StarCraft II scene.^[2]
