FFA Masters League
From Liquipedia Warcraft Wiki
The FFA Masters League (FML) is the community and league for all free-for-all (FFA) players around the globe and it is almost as old as The Frozen Throne itself. Founded by WorpeX in 2005, the community is highly diverse and gathers in its Discord server to get the daily dose of FFA. Multiple events and leagues take place every year.
While new players often perceive FFA as purely luck-related, whoever spends time in the community, will soon realize, this is not the case. Many paths can lead to victory and the diversity of valid strategies is way higher than in other modes. Matches often culminate in epic base races and drama between players who display an impressive level of tryhardness. To endure this, most FML players have grown a thick skin and see diplomacy and psychological manipulation as part of FFA.[1]
Format
[edit]Normal FML seasons with mostly 4-way matches take place regularly and usually last between one and three months. Multiple other events take place throughout the year, ranging from team-based leagues (e.g. Team Battle Royale) to other creative cups (e.g. KoFFA or Santa Cup). Events get announced on ffamasters.com and in the Discord server. They are open to all players who know FFA fundamentals.
Rules
[edit]The official rulebook can be accessed via ffamasters.com. As there are more variables and players in FFA matches, it requires specific rules for this game mode. For example, preteaming is strictly prohibited, but temporary peacing within a match is permitted.[2].
