The NGL-One - Season 2 is, alongside the WarCraft III Champions League, the most prestigious team league of 2006-2007. It features the very top tier teams from all around the world.

The Finals takes place in Berlin (Germany) at the Games convention featuring 2 tourney : Warcraft III and Counter Strike.

World Elite won the second edition, beating the defending champion Meet Your Makers in final.

Format and dates

Match system

Each encounter between teams consists of a King of the Hill series :

  • the winner of the map plays the next one,
  • the loser has to be replaced,
  • a team win by defeating the 4 opponent players.

Qualification

Regular season

[edit]

The regular season consists of one group of 10 teams :

  • round robin (all teams face each other once),
  • match difference based ranking,
  • top 4 advances to the playoffs,
  • played from October 18th 2006 to March 4th 2007.

Playoffs

The 4 remaning teams face offline in Berlin (Germany) in a double elimination bracket :

  • Top ranked team from regular season faces the fourth one in semi-finals, while 2nd ranked team faces the 3rd one,
  • grand final played with super-advantage (if the team coming from the winners' bracket loses, another series is played).


Dates
  • semi-finals and winners' final played on March 30th,
  • losers' round 1 and losers' finals played on March 31st,
  • grand finals played on April 1st.
