So I crossed my thoughtless heart
Spread my wings like a parachute
I’m the albatross
I swept in at the rescue
The devil that you know
Looks now more like an angel
I’m the life you chose
And all this terrible danger
And when that sky rains fire on you
And you’re persona non grata
I’ll tell you how I’ve been there too
And that none of it matters

Someone knows what’s going on
Someone knows, and someone’s gonna tell
Someone’s gonna wrap us up in Styrofoam and paper
And mail us flat-rate right down to Hell

You and me are in a lot of trouble
And somebody’s gonna burst our bubble
I’ll open up
I’m thinking everything you wish I wasn’t
The call was tough
But you’re better off, I’m being honest
So won’t you stop
Holding out for me when I don’t want it?
Just brush me off
‘Cause I’m your ghost right now, your house is haunted
What if I’m not
Worth the time and breath I know you’re savin’?

Called my friend in New York,
three thousand miles away
Halfway through her metamorphosis,
nothing I could say
Hoard my small resentments
like rare and priceless gems
Hang on to your dreams
until there’s nothing left of them

rowan-e-ravenwood asked:
A song you associate with a headcanon you have about a character of your choice!
dragonnnfly Answer:
I found well represents a headcanon I have for Dagur the Deranged.
It’s a fact that Dagur regretted what he did to Heather, but I have lately been thinking more of that and how much it might’ve affected him, leading me to the headcanon…
“But I missed you more than I thought I would”
Perhaps for a while Dagur was fine with having set his sister adrift, but his father was already gone, and he didn’t have a mother, so he had sent his only family away, probably to die on the open ocean.
So he must’ve been relieved to see her alive. And although he was her enemy…but ever since he saw her again, that was when his behavior started to change
“Oh, and I found love where it wasn’t supposed to be. Right in front of me”
So I believe that the weight taken off of his chest at seeing his sister again, and at knowing he could fight for someone other than himself is what created his redemption arc.
“Talk some sense to me”
And I’ll use you as a warning sign
That if you talk enough sense, then you’ll lose your mind
And I’ll use you as a focal point
So I don’t lose sight of what I want
Yeah, that checks out.
All along, all along, your intention was to run
You couldn’t be someone else
You longed to be someone,
All your colours running off, and you feel it giving up
You couldn’t be somebody else when the miracle came undone.
You said it’s lack of life
What a way to cut the air
What a way to spend your night

When does a comit become a meteor
When does a candle become a blaze
When does a man become a monster
When does a ripple become a tidal wave?
When does the reason become the blame?

Her clothes spread wide and mermaid-like, awhile they bore her up. But long it could not be till that her garments, heavy with their drink, pulled the poor wretch from her melodious lay to muddy death.
