Postmodern social theory on human identity and sexuality. Inclusionist to the extreme. Open to all sorts of kin, kink, age-regressors, endogenic systems, shippers, paraphiles, and non-offending MAP’s (including reformed offenders) who need a place to exist in peace. Ally to intersex and sex worker voices (as much as possible). Pro-choice. Choice feminist ally. Self-diagnosis is a necessity. Intersectionality, nuance, scope, and compassion are always important parts of any discussion on social issues. The left will never be unified. Accessibility needs will always conflict, so the goal is to create ample options to mitigate adversity. Individual self-identity is about whatever you get out of it, so go for it.

Power structures benefit nobody. Individuals are not the cause nor perpetrators of sociocultural norms the way institutions and corporations are. Privilege and oppression are not binaries or single-dimensional axes, but rather refer to the proximity of large classes to normative cultural images. Not all individual members of a privileged class have access to that privilege and not all institutional power is recreated in the dynamics of smaller social spheres. Multiple marginalization has a compounding effect. Power will always exist in all dynamics and can be distributed along any lines, including ones which contradict institutional axes or which are irrelevant to identity politics. Sweeping statements will always harm some fringe population, which is why nuance and subject specificity is a necessity.

I understand that a lot of people will only follow blogs that are absolutely safe for them. If you use the /search/X method, please note that I’ve been on tumblr for many (many many many) years and I am constantly becoming aware of new premises that I sometimes don’t get a chance to discuss immediately. This about page may or may not also be up to date. If you need to know my current stance on something, the best way you can know for sure is to send me an ask/message/submit (preferably off anon so I can answer privately). I’ll understand if a disagreement is too big or if you decide later to unfollow. Reasons for unfollowing are optional.

Ask to follow/interact if you’re going to be in my notes a lot and your blog frequently posts explicitly Marxist things (imagery, ideology, rhetoric). No, this is not about communism or general leftism, this is very explicitly about certain flavors of foundational theory and their embodiment.

I try to transcribe/caption things, but sometimes I don’t–visual media is tagged appropriately either way.
