I wish I could give less than one star. They twist history and reality as they wish.
I wonder how much Qatar or China paid to have Israel renamed to Palestine!
It hurts to see blank antisemitism where children should learn!
the new AI is not very powerful at all it cant process basic questions, the user interface is dated and actually worse than the regular google search bar, we where encouraged to use this in school but i can say with confidence no one in school is going to use this for their work. another small bone to pick is that the image search is below average, the person presenting bragged about having right to good and high quality images but that's far from the case, and once again you would be better off using google
I am a student of history and looked up Buddha, who was born in circa 563 BCE. Brittanica states that he was born into a "Hindu" family and adopted some "Hindu" views. This is not about religious politics, but history. Despite predating Vedas to tens of thousands of years, the oldest Vedic text is dated 14-15th century (11-12th c. to the max), which is almost 2000 years after the Buddha's birth. To apply such modern day concepts as "Vedic period" and the mythic belief of primordial existent of "Veda" are best avoided when describing other older religions such as Buddhism, Jainism, Zoroastrianism, Judaism and Christianity. Using such Hindu-specific or Vedic-specific words from religious texts that contain mentions of Mughal emperors and British Queen are best avoided, unless Brittanica Encyclopedia has an religious agenda!
My review is actually about the science teacher from London GB.
Dear science teacher who says that sex and gender are two different things and that sex is inherited not gender. Do you understand the meaning of the root of ‘Gender’? Its root is the same as that in Generation, Gene, Genitals, General, Homogenous, indigenous etc etc. the root is *gene- and it means to give birth or beget. So please do explain dear science teacher, why you believe that gender is not inherited. And if you cannot understand the components of important words in our language, should you even be teaching at all?
I was baffled when I checked the information they had about my country. I read only two paragraphs and noted at least four facts that were wrong or outdated. It felt like it was written by someone who could not do proper research before writing. Some of the info even felt insulting like when they called my native language a patois, which it is not! The funny thing is that when I tried to write a feedback, in the hope that someone might correct the wrong information, I found that I had to pay the subscription to be able to do that. Is this a scam? Judging by how they do things, that sounds like it. Even Wikipedia has more accurate info about my country. Yet, lecturers would accept a source like Britannica, but not wiki...
I couldn't believe that this website is from the same organisation that used to produce the thorough and authoritative Encyclopedia Brittanica books, but apparently it is.
It's packed full of the worst sort of clickbait ads, the ones you would associate with a cheap tabloid, for example "Inappropriate bikini pictures...".
The information on the site is often unclear, muddled, badly written or just wrong. Each article comes to an end and leads you directly into another article that is often quite unrelated.
The low trustpilot score is well deserved.
Not long ago this review would of been a five star now every time I load the page it seems to be overlapping with another and won’t work damn shame
The site is fine. I'd have to say it is one of the most unbiased sites found in cyberspace. The reference material is more than adequate and accurate.
I found an error, but CANNOT find any way in which to reach customer service or leave feedback. Their chat bot picks up the error (in an article on Shakespeare it refers to his native Thames Valley accent) but there is no way I can find to report this so that it can be corrected. This may be available to subscribers only but having read some reviews of subscribers there is no way I am going down that route!! On a more general note, I find Encyclopaedia Britannica to be heavily biased and americanized in its comments and quizes etc and certainly do NOT have the trust that I had years ago in its accuracy and authenticity
Newcomer emailed the company complaining about discrimination and was instantly blocked, leaving the person to access account to retrieve correspondence, tasks and send invoice to be remunerated for the work done. The role itself involved several ambiguities and issues which affected the person in question.
I bought a full Brit, Encyc, set in 1976 which I still treasure and read like a book. it has scholarly references which usually can be found online for further reading. i have subscribed twice to britannica .com and canceled because i did not see the same degree of quality references at the end of the articles. To me Britannica is just not Britannica without good quality references. Couldn't you disturb a few hundred million electrons and add good references at the end of the articles just like in the printed versions?
As a kid I grew referencing and learning from Encyclopedia Britannica. Our family had a full collection of the books. The content of the current Encyclopedia Britannica is tailored to readers with extreme left political views. I cannot recommend it.
I cannot reach anyone by phone and get no calls back. Ican't cancel and they still will take payments.
Locked out of my account, can't cancel my monthly subscription. Customer service doesn't respond. Will have to talk to my bank about blocking the payment. Seems like fraud indeed.
I paid for a year subscription and now I can't even cancel the subscription am unable to get a refund if not the help of nationalrecovery010 at gmail that get my refund recently
I have cancelled my subscription various times and they continue to take out payments even after confirming cancellation. Customer support either very slow to respond or do not respond at all.
The website was great, until I was locked out of my account. I have been contacting support for over three months with no reply. I paid for a year subscription and now I can't even cancel the subscription. I will be talking to my credit card company to try and come up with a solution.
