My Italian partner and I applied for a joint Conto Corrente Arancio on January 20th, attracted by the 4% promotion. We both digitally signed the contract. I completed two manual identity verifications with an operator, presenting my Italian ID card. On January 26th and 28th, I called customer service and was told the application was being processed normally.
On February 6th, I logged in to find the application had simply vanished – no email, no notification, no explanation. When I tried to call, it was impossible to reach an operator.
I am an EU citizen, legally resident in Italy, with an Italian partner and children here. My funds are already held at another Italian bank. There is no legitimate reason to silently cancel a fully verified application without any communication.
I have filed a formal complaint (reclamo) via PEC. ING now has 60 days to respond – for what should have been a simple account opening.

SCAM AGENTS — NO HELP, JUST FISHING FOR SCAM AND USING CUSTOMERS TO STEAL MONEY. A BANK OF DISGRACE
I want to warn everyone about ING Bank and their absolutely disgraceful, scam-like behavior. For over a month, my account was blocked without any explanation. Then, without any communication, ING permanently closed my account and has refused to release my funds ever since. Despite repeated requests and providing every document (ID, proof of address, account statements), I have received no meaningful updates, no support, no solutions—just silence.
The so-called customer service agents are unreachable, show no empathy, and never provide real answers. All I get are empty promises and generic replies, never any action. Their incompetence and indifference have caused me severe mental distress, financial trouble, and wasted countless hours.
I demanded immediate answers and a date for my money to be returned. Instead, ING keeps ignoring me, dragging things on and making it impossible to resolve anything. In my opinion, this is more than failure—it feels like ING is actively trying to scam customers out of their money.
If you value your peace of mind or financial security, stay far away from ING Bank. I am now escalating my complaint to the financial authorities and will expose their practices to protect others from falling victim. ING has proved itself to be a bank of disgrace—shameful, unreliable, and dangerous.
DO NOT TRUST ING BANK.

Extremely poor. We transferred all our savings to this bank only to discover they dropped the interest to 0.50 with no warning... CARE if you don't order your debit card in time, you will lose the interest rate you expect to have. They don't remind you to order the card in time.. I would recommend a bank that offers a good customer service. They don't! Hence their very low rating.

I have had an account at this bank for 20 years. This August I wanted to do a bank transfer of $200 to the USA. It has taken me a month between online help centre inefficiency , in-branch bankers passing the buck, and simply no feedback to the last straw of being hung up by a call centre operator because she couldn’t explain to me what the code ‘aggiuntivo banca beneficiria’ was- a code I need to know in English to explain to an American. My daughter ended up making the bank transfer from her Revolut account in 2 minutes. I had all the information needed.

Failed to notify change in account interest rate
Opened the 4% promo account, everything seemed ok but after 1 month they lowered the interest rate as there was a technical mistake. The issue is that they just kept the money and did not notify this to me, I discovered after 1 month that I was not receiving the right interest and had to call support. Stay away and keep your money safe.

As per my previous review, your reply further confirm you do not have a customer support team that works or either a customer team.
The review was deliberately wrong in content since it was about an airline. Nonetheless your chat bot replied.
Additionally, multiple attempts to call your customer service over the phone failed because your weak system drops the call even if the login information are correct.
The final result is that you ad a company, arbitrarily blocked the credit cards of a frequent traveler person and you are allegedly willing not to fix the issue.

If you are looking for an online banking stay away from ING.
Possibly the worst application ever in terms of usability, not mentioning the lack of response from their customer service (or should I say existence?).
It took 7 attempts to complete a change of a flight booking, not mentioning that the process is more cumbersome than a swiss watch mechanism.

Appalling company
Like many people who tried to open an ING account in the 4% promotion, it was a complete joke. I have tried many times with the same message Error technico.
You need to fix your IT issues and offer the same rate as when the customer tried to open account. ING should be embarrassed by how it is treating its potential customers. Despite giving my contact details and consent during the account process, I have not received any contact from this company.
