Double Check your Dates .........
I booked a hotel in the UK and then found that my husband had double booked us. I got in touch with Expedia within 6 hours of the booking to rearrange the dates. I was informed by Expedia, who, after 48 hours (although on their chat it states 24 hours) I was informed that they could not change my booking, and although I had taken out a Cancellation Policy, they would not be able to refund my money.
I contacted the hotel in question personally, got through immediately and was informed that the booking could be amended and that they would confirm the new dates with not only Expedia but also myself,
I was also informed by the hotel that Expedia do not transfer any monies to the said hotel until the date of arrival - so Expedia must be earning an awful interest on future booking dates.
I contacted Expedia's UK Customer Care Department, to inform them of the above, and asked for the situation to be escalated as I had done their job for them, and also asking for the Cancellation Policy money to be refunded to me by the end of the day.
Double check your dates - because they will try everything to get out of paying you back.
If I could give no star I would.
I made a reservation on January 16 for I thought was the 24th of January. Somehow I switched to the February calendar. I saw my mistake but because there was a no refund even
I made a reservation on January 16 and I looked at the calendar wrong. I caught the mistake and tried to make the change to the right date. They said it was my problem. I had to make an additional date. I was told that it would be considered and notified in 3 days. That didn't happen.
Flight Booking Via Expedia Closed Us Off from Web Check-In
We booked a flight from Chennai, India to Trivandrum via Expedia and when it came time to fly we found out we could not check in via the web because we had used a foreign credit card. I got in touch with Expedia via the chat service and the agent said it was the policy of the airline, InDiGo, to disallow web check-ins for people who paid with a foreign credit card. However, our Swiss friend who booked the same ticket via Booking.com was able to check in to the same flight. Booking via Expedia put us at a disadvantage. Instead of making our trip easy and stress-free, our only option the agent suggested was going to the airport three hours earlier to secure good seats and check in. By contrast, our friend has the luxury of arriving an hour and a half earlier. We will never book airline seats for travel in India via Expedia again.
Unable to complete booking online
Tried for a number of hours to book flights on Expedia for it to continuously say "sorry we're unable to complete your booking. Please wait and try again". Did a live chat with an agent who COULD book the flights for a dearer price. What a surprise. And looking on the website a day later the same flights still on offer but the prices have now gone up.
The reps laugh at you
The reps laugh at you, make you wait in hold for 30 mins then hang up on you, or are just no help at all.
Worst experience ever they messed up my…
Worst experience ever they messed up my flights refused to help sent my call to a customer service representative that was rude and no help refused to get supervisor! Then when I wanted to cancel they wouldn’t refund money just airline credit !! Stay away even if you spend a little mire not worth this pathetic company and their customer support
Expedia is a scam! ORB TIX CHARGES 3x!
Expedia used to provide cheaper rates. While the process of travel sometimes got complicated using the service due to being a third party, you saved money.
NOW YOU WILL PAY MORE!!! I booked a rental car from a garage because my engine blew, highly stressed, and became a victim of their scam. I was put on hold multiple times for long periods of time, I’m sure part of the plan to infuse urgency into the victims mind, only to say all they need is to sign off on the initial $350 payment. THIS PAYMENT WAS NOT EVEN PART OF THE RENTAL! It was to them! When I showed up at hertz he said the charge was $500 but I was charged almost $900 by the company with expedia ORBTICKETS!!!! I WILL NEVER RENT From EXPEDIA AGAIN! When questioned the cost he double talked and it made sense at the moment only to realize I paid for 3 weeks and am renting for 2. $350 on top of a $500 rental.
I rent a car with Expedia and received…
I rent a car with Expedia and received the confirmation and at the moment to pick the car they cancelled the reservation because I am a Florida resident???.and I didn’t receive any info about it in the confirmation and to receive a refund was very difficult and only received a portion of the total amount.DONT USE Expedia if you don’t want to be disappointed.
Expedia does not protect clients!
Expedia does not protect clients from dishonest vendors like SIXT in Denver. On Dec 25 2025, Anthony Rohlicek and his team at SIXT Denver advised me to cancel my car reservation (which I booked through Expedia) so that my mother-in-law would upgrade her reservation to a larger and more expensive car for our whole big group (instead of two smaller cars as our group originally planned). SIXT Denver also promised me a full refund and asked me to contact Expedia to process that refund (which I did right away). However, when I contacted Expedia again after a month to ask why I still hadn't received a refund, Expedia told me that SIXT have denied the refund and mentioned that they had no records that a cancellation free of charge had been approved. This was unbelievably fraudulent, and Expedia could not do anything to protect us. Very disappointing!
No wonder they are so rich… they keep…
No wonder they are so rich… they keep everyone’s refund money!
I booked a hotel room through Expedia, then had to cancel 3 days later because my event (kids’ wrestling tournament) was moved to a different city. I went through the proper channels to cancel/request refund. I got confirmation emails that it was being processed, then lo and behold, days later my refund was denied. WHAT??? Then event was still 3 weeks away! I have done everything right with plenty of time! So I called the hotel. They NEVER RECEIVED a cancellation request nor did they receive refund request. Furthermore, since I went through Expedia, only Expedia could cancel- the hotel couldn’t do it with me on the phone even though it was my money and my name! Expedia had kept my money while LYING to me!!! I have the emails to prove what they were lying about.
So, I reached out, AGAIN. The agent I chatted with (yes, chatted because heaven forbid we give people a phone number to call for customer service) said there was no history of me cancelling the booking or requesting refund. WHAT??? I screenshotted emails and , YES, CHAT HISTORY that was present on my side of the app. The agent was very rude and said that those were all automated emails and responses. Hmmm, nice to know how Expedia runs it business— AUTOMATED RESPONSES.
Since going through Expedia is a lost cause, I am disputing the charges made to my credit card. They were very helpful and resolved to problem on that end.
NEVER AGAIN. Buyer BEWARE!!!
Worst experience with Expedia at Belfast Airport
Worst experience with Expedia at Belfast Intl. Airport
I have a UK driver's license for one year and booked Budget car for 2 days through Expedia. I arrived from Manchester at 11 PM to the revelation that I need at least 2 years of UK license is required to rent the car. This requirement was not mentioned in the T&Cs which generically mentioned that some areas of the UK might require more UK driving license experience. The Expedia representative was unhelpful and just reiterated company policy, despite acknowledging that the policy did not specifically mention Northern Ireland or Belfast. He was also unable to refund and just expressed sorrow for the experience.
Had to rent an exorbitantly expensive car at that time of night from airport. Will not recommend at all.
Morally indefensible company
I'm extraordinarily disappointed there is not an option for zero stars
Expedia took my money for a flight. Several hours later they decided not to fulfil the flight booking but will not return the money for 7-10 business days
So now I have to swim since I don't have that money to book another flight with a reputable company
Ariane Gorin, I completely fail to understand how you sleep at night with this consistent feedback without trying to improve your organisation
If you're thinking of using Expedia, listen to every other review on here
*** DO NOT BOOK WITH EXPEDIA ***
No real deal
You don't really save on hotel rooms when it come to Expedia. Roach motels are price at 68 dollars or more. You better off going to Super.com, real saving.
I booked a room and never got a confirmation
I booked a room and never got confirmation while I was on the road. When I got home I called and customer support could find no record of my booking. But sure enough the bill came through on my credit card. I attempted to contest the charge but they merely showed a no refunds policy and my claim was denied. So I paid for something I never received. Not happy. Another time they claimed all fees were included. That was not true. I won’t do business with them again.
Decent Broker, recommended
I have booked multiple flights and car rentals with them and am mostly happy
The only downside is that their customer service speak heavily accented and often inexplicable English
We arrived at a hotel ia a building…
We arrived at a hotel irs a building site
We contacted Expedia as it’s has no seating on theses riptide.
Basically was told to deal with it ourselves direct with hotel
My contract is with Expedia not the accommodation they want your money but when things are wrong it’s deal with it yourself
I offered to send video and photo evidence they didn’t seem Interested
Some faceless AI chat that offers no help
Ringing toll free not toll free outside USA was told they couldn’t access booking
Avoid Expedia at all costs a shock organisation

Booked with them twice
Booked with them twice. The first time there wasn't an issue. 2nd time they stole 200.00 from me when i canceled within their cancelation time frame. Gave me the run around about a cancelation fee on a fully refundable flight. Then tried to blame the airlines and got mad when I asked for the cancelation fee in writing. When i contacted the airlines they stated the money was refunded to expedia all of it. I wouldn't book an expensive trips through them. After this I'll book directly from now on.
with all my backup printouts and screen…
with all my backup printouts and screen shots, customer service chat never resolved my missing refund. The Price Drop Protection is BOGUS. I paid for it, to never receive the amount that they themselves informed me I had been rewarded. The money never was refunded to my credit card.
And regarding the actual flight, I ended up paying extra to Expedia for absolutely nothing, i made the booking directly with the airline.
Expedia.com not offering any support
The occasion was mired by issues.
Firstly the taxi that was sent to pick me up wasn't where he was meant to be.So I was charge for a service I never received (scammed). The apartment was changed at the last minute. The alternative apartment we were moved into didn’t have heating for the first 24 hours.
The maintenance team were borderline incompetents they didn’t have a clue about heating systems. No I wouldn't use citybreakapartments.com again and dependant on the response from Expedia.co.uk I may not be using them either.
Slow resolution timeframe
I would like to point out that I have an issue with both Expedia and the hotel that was booked in my itinerary. Let’s start with the hotel. It was located in a shady block of the area along with the front desk staff not readily available and also it appeared that it fully wasn’t a hotel with some rooms and the room that was chosen for me had a strong order with random furniture and a fridge that did not even work. I checked out of that hotel within not even 15 min of my stay and found a safer accommodation and had to pay out of pocket.
Now here’s my issue with Expedia. I reached out to their customer service to make a complaint about the hotel and to also ask for a refund because I did not stay in the hotel . The first agent was sympathetic and handled it well and then promised a timeframe of when this would be resolved. The time frame was promised as 24-72 hours. After 3 days of waiting I reach out again and was denied a refund. Totally unfair and outrageous to not get my money back for a room I did not stay in. I will be doing a chargeback since you people want to play with peoples money.
