Issues fixed

Unreadable texts in high resolutions

If texts in the game appear far too large, make sure that the .exe does NOT override dpi scaling (right-click -> properties -> compatibility -> high dpi scaling). Set all scaling to off.

Crashes when using PDA stations or vending machines

Same fix as above (turn all dpi scaling off).

Screen tearing

Activate windowed mode with the config.exe (in the game directory), and then run the game in borderless fullscreen (e.g. with Borderless gaming). This automatically makes it use VSync and removes screen tearing.

Issues unresolved

Crash when focus lost on fullscreen

When playing on fullscreen, alt-tabbing out of the game and going back in, you can be stuck on a white screen with endless music. The only way out is Ctrl-Alt-Delete. Doesn't happen on borderless windowed or windowed mode.

Long load times when using PDA and shops

When using one of the shop terminals or accessing cameras with your PDA, the loading time can be very long when using a non-Russian version. You might have to wait about 20 seconds or so before the interface opens, it will eventually.

Pick up items from shops

Don't forget: If you buy something at a vending machine, the item doesn't get automatically transfered into your inventory. It appears at the output tray and you have to pick it up manually.

Notes

  1. Version 5.60 of StarForce DRM may need a manual driver update on Windows 7, 8.1, Windows 10, or Windows 11 to function properly.[3][4] The driver can be updated using the included PCNSL.exe/PROTECT.exe tool.
  2. When running this game without elevated privileges (Run as administrator option), write operations against a location below %PROGRAMFILES%, %PROGRAMDATA%, or %WINDIR% might be redirected to %LOCALAPPDATA%\VirtualStore on Windows Vista and later (more details).
