Widescreen resolution

Use the Widescreen & FOV Fix[1]
Hex-edit Vr.exe[2]
  1. Open Apache.exe with a hex editor such as HxD.
  2. Press Ctrl+F and set datatype to Text-string.
  3. Set Search direction to All.
  4. Press Search all.
  5. Search for 640.
  6. Left double click the result 640 x 480 x 32.
  7. Under the Decoded text column, change either of the resolutions, depending on the preferred resolution (xxx x yyy, xxx x yyyy or xxxx x yyyy), the file size has to be same in the end or the game will crash at startup.
  8. Save the file.
  9. Go in-game and in the video options, choose the new resolution, it will be in effect only when gameplay starts, since the main menu is resolution locked.

Notes

Lower vertical FOV at wider aspect ratios (Vert-). Increase the FOV to compensate, use the Widescreen & FOV Fix.
