Video

Widescreen resolution

The game can be run at higher resolutions than what is available in the menu.
1080p and 16:9[citation needed]
  1. Run the game once and create a profile.
  2. Go to <path-to-game>\Profiles\*profilename*.
  3. Open local.ini.
  4. Replace g_width and g_height with 1920 and 1080.
  5. Download this DLL file and place it in the modules folder overwriting the original (for other aspect ratios, it can be found here).

Notes

Any resolution above 1920x1080 will stop menus from showing, including the main menu, and even if one manages to get into the game, all the UI elements are off center and not mapped to the cursor's location.

Use Magpie[citation needed]
  1. Run the game once and create a profile.
  2. Go to <path-to-game>\Profiles\*profilename*.
  3. Open local.ini.
  4. Change r_fullscreen from 1 to 0.

  1. Run the game once and create a profile.
  2. Go to <path-to-game>\Profiles\*profilename*.
  3. Open local.ini.
  4. Add g_console 1 to the file and save it.
  5. Whilst in game, open the console and type g_camera_fov ## (45º is the default field of view).

Vertical sync (Vsync)

The game runs at uncapped frame rates and doesn't offer a vsync option.
Set max frame rate via Nvidia control panel[citation needed]
  1. Open Nvidia control panel.
  2. Navigate to "Manage 3D settings".
  3. Select AWE.exe.
  4. Set max frame rate to the monitor's refresh rate.

Notes

To fix the character blur on movement, set the max frame rate to 60 FPS.
