Space Rangers 2: Dominators is a singleplayer bird's-eye view RPG and strategy game in the Space Rangers series.
The game was released as Space Rangers 2 in the UK and Space Rangers 2: Rise of the Dominators in the US. It was re-released as Space Rangers 2: Reboot, which includes the base game and its Reboot expansion.

Widescreen patch

- Download the patch from PCGamingWiki.
- Unrar and start
SR2ResolutionPatch.exe
- Select the game folder, preferred resolution and additional settings and click "Install".
- The patch will create a
RangersNewRes.exe file, always start the game via this exe file to achieve widescreen.

Game displays blank screen
- The game renders nothing to the screen under Windows 7 and higher.

Blank screen: Workaround 1

- This workaround needs to be applied upon every startup, increasing loading time substantially [7]
- Start the game normally
- Press R, then ↵ Enter. This will load a random planetary battle
- Open menu (Esc) and exit planetary battle mode. You'll end up in the main menu
- Close "Pick planetary battle" submenu and you're good to go

- This workaround breaks edge-scrolling in the minimap space travel mode[8]
- Go to the configuration file(s) location.
- Open
cfg.txt.
- Find the line which contains
Window.
- Change the line you found to the following:
Window=True
- Go to the installation folder.
- Right-click on
Rangers.exe and select Compatibility Options from the menu which appears.
- Click the
Compatibility tab.
- Check the
Run this program in compatibility mode for: checkbox.
- In the drop-down menu underneath the checkbox you just checked, select
Windows 98/ME.
- Click the OK button.
