Way too many clicks to highlight a piece of text, can't remove highlight, no undo button. First review ever dedicated to this - returning to free Adobe

Software does not work. Slow and glitchy. Customer service non responsive when I looked for a refund within the first 14 days. Cannot cancel the subscription when tried either. The website does not allow. Blocked the company from taking another subscription from my card in 12 months time. Total scam artists!

I subscribed to PDF Reader Pro AI a few days ago, and after paying for the subscription, I discovered I couldn’t access any of the AI functions without entering a licence code — which was never sent to me.

Their customer service (CS) is an absolute nightmare. It took them nearly 48 hours to respond to my initial emails, and when they finally did, they clearly hadn’t even read my question properly. The responses were useless and failed to address the issue. I had to follow up multiple times, sending detailed explanations and screenshots, only to be told repeatedly that “no licence code is required” and I just needed to log in — which I had already done. The problem persisted, and instead of resolving it, they banned me from contacting support altogether!

What a disgraceful company. Poor product, misleading subscription model, and shockingly bad customer care. Avoid at all costs!

I cancelled my trial period after just one day and received a message that I had to cancel through PayPal?! Went through PayPal, my bank to stop the payment before it would go through, and was still charged. Now I'm waiting to get my money back, which will take weeks... Any legit company would have accepted my cancellation and said: Sorry to see you go... This is a scam and many people will give up instead of jumping through all the hoops and headaches this company creates to make an illegitimate buck. If I could give it less than one star, I would. Shame on pdfreaderpro!

Horrible customer service. Only way to contact is through email, which is troublesome. Sent an email on day 1 that included information on the issue I was experiencing along with the problem PDF I created. On Day 2 (24 hours later) PDF Reader Pro got back to me asking for the very same thing I sent them on Day 1! So, on Day 2, I resent the PDF with a note that the problem PDF was embedded in my initial trouble ticket. On Day 3, 4, and 5 nothing....crickets. I emailed them and still no answer. I have 4 licenses that I am happy to burn, along with the money spent on this POS program

poor editing and then it got worse when I bought a new MacBook Pro and tried to transfer the forever license from my old Macbook Pro. PDF Reader Pro won't let that happen because I did not delete the old instance of the license before deleting the app. Now it wants me to contact support, which I have done multiple times with no response - just an offer to buy another license. Try something else!

We tested PDF Reader Pro in an enterprise environment, and it did not work reliably. Several users reported that the PDFs generated by the software could not be opened in Adobe Acrobat Reader, which is a major issue for compatibility.

I reached out to customer support for a refund, but I never received it. Instead, they asked me to troubleshoot the issue. I simply don’t have time for that when the product itself is fundamentally not working as expected.

If you need a reliable PDF solution for professional use, I recommend looking elsewhere.

Took my money of £99 and I still can't edit any form of PDF. Requested a refund immediately and they are refusing to refund me. Saying they can't trace my money. How convenient. Bunch of lying scheming thieves!!!!

Their recent update causes my iMac to freeze and shut down. Send in a support request and no response. I finally uninstalled the app. Nice while it worked, but a waste of bits with this version.

The PDF doesn't come close to matching Adobe Acrobat, their customer service takes two weeks to reply to emails, if at all. They haven't responded to my request for a refund (27 November 2024). Honestly, they don't deserve a single star.

I've since found Wondershare PDFelement and that gives Adobe Acrobat a run for their money. It's amazing and I couldn't be happier.

Excellent customer service👌. They have helped me to resolve the issue I had, that wasn't directly related to their soft, but affected my license and access. They have discussed the problem and provided solution. The programme itself is very helpful once you learn it. Stitching pdf's or AI translation keeping the original pdf color and format - just perfect. Thank you! from Poland.

benutze ashampoo pdf pro 3. leider gibt es sehr sehr oft probleme bei der ocr to pdf erkennung. Neben undefinierbaren zeichen erscheinen falsch euro beträge. selbst kostenlose programme können das besser. die bedienung erscheint ungelenk.

The company provided activation code that doesn’t work, they won’t respond to the dozen request I sent for either help or to refund my payment to date, over a dozen request have been submitted, with zero response, I would not ever buy from this company ever again, clearly they are refusing to provide any level of support

Upgrading this from initially one to two, then to three and now to four stars (August 2024) as they have really upped their game with several features added and bugs fixed.

Here are the 10 Fatal Flaws that make this software unusable (and not a SINGLE ONE of them has been fixed since I've been in direct contact with them for over half a year):

1) Not being able to EDIT text in a pdf?! (Probably the single most important thing your software can not do without)
2) Not being able to edit whether a font is in bold, italics, etc.
3) Exporting text to Word (or others) without turning it into an IMAGE?! (with completely uneditable text)
4) Command + Z (on Mac - should be 'undo') is not working
5) When text is added, it's impossible to move or highlight the text using the cursor keys and shift (let alone cut/copy/paste)
6) Command + X (cut) does not work although Command + V (paste) does.
7) Once an 'Add Text' cell has been added somewhere in a document, it's IMPOSSIBLE to get back into it, if one has to edit any information.
8) 'Add Text' cell can NOT be moved using cursor keys to place it with more precision
9) If there are boxes to 'tick' you have to do 'Add Text' in order to be able to put an X or a 'tick' - In Acrobat you just TICK and DONE!
10) If you accidentally 'bump' a line of text in a document in Edit mode / Add Text mode, the software FORGETS where the original positioning of the line was and the lines all get SCREWED UP!
It's impossible to recover from this, you have to start from scratch!

I've been in direct contact with them (the PDF Reader Pro 'Team') for over half a year now and not a SINGLE ONE of these 10 Fatal Flaws has been fixed!

It's a shame that you pay $79 for a product that simply does not work. To help prevent others to spend your hard earned money on a dud, is the reason I'm writing this interview.

In the unlikely (based on their track record) event PDF Reader Pro Team actually do make any improvements, I will update this review.

I recently switched to PDF Reader Pro, and it has been a refreshing experience. It's so much easier to use than other PDF readers I've tried in the past. The interface is intuitive, and the features are comprehensive. I'm able to do everything from editing text to adding images to signing documents with ease. I highly recommend this app!
