Love the game ^^. Great concept. Maybe move the reset points of automation. Twice now I have reset all my changes when trying to select a different comp xD… Or even a confirmation would help.
I see so as well. I hope its the creator of this game T-T (Doubt it is). But I wouldn’t say yoinked. More like just stealing. But if the Owner of this game deploys a steam game, then the other game cant do anything.
I know it's not the creator of this game based on the update done a week ago and that game's preview being nothing alike in terms of UI. But outside from that? Functionally the same game. Instead of 1 000 000... it's 999 999 999. Which... eh.
The games are similar on the surface, but in practice they play so much differently that I wouldn't even treat it as "clone with different actions" which is already perfectly serviceable as a different game imo. (It's a game obviously inspired by this one and with similar theming, but different core gameplay mechanics which means the way you actually play the two ends up being nothing alike.)
(It was posted on itch like a month ago. Apparently it got some minor updates since then, but it's hard to judge until the next major content update which will more firmly cement it as being obviously different.)
I would really like the option to 'record' the choices I make on a run for an auto preset. Going through the list every time I want to make a new one is not fun, being able to just play and make the preset at the same time would be cool. (Great game though)
Also, a way to easily tell the difference between different things in the automation screen. So a different colour for if the automation is turned on, and if they are a choice.
I love how you expanded on the Necromancy, but I noticed you didn't include the goblin king for resurrection. other than that (and maybe the rabbits, since fighting the wolves instead of feeding them doesn't result in their deaths), you've covered all your bases on that front.
Can't wait for the next update!
EDIT: and the rats, that 10 juicy power left on the table right there, going un-necromancied and such.
Suggestion: When using automation, the game should check to see if something higher-priority has become available after each attempt at its current task. At the moment, once it starts doing something it will keep doing it until it can't continue, which results in eg. collecting way more wood than is necessary.
If it rechecked after each iteration then you could just set the task that uses the wood to higher priority and it would stop gathering wood once it had enough to do that.
salut, juste pour savoir : c'est quoi le maximum de power obtenable dans la démo ? j'ai l'impression qu'on est limité vers 8000, mais j'aimerais savoir si on ne pourrais pas avoir plus ?
Stop me if you saw this bug before (or if it's not a bug at all) - in the paid version, I can learn magic and practice arcane blast by going to the mines and infusing the crystals with mana BEFORE doing the tower intro fetch quest and studying magic under the sage
It may be a bug since you are infusing magic though there are legitimate ways to skip the sage with magic in the form of killing the fairy and making a magic potion so I cannot be certain.
I'm not killing the fairy in this play through. You could ignore the fairy entirely and just go through the mountain -> main -> open gate and infuse mana crystals is enough to teach magic and open up arcane blast's branch
is the downloaded version a program or a local browser page? the biggest annoyance I'm having with the demo is that it stops progressing if it's not visible on the screen (yes it keeps working if only a small part is visible but finding a way to keep part of 4 different windows visible while working in a 5th was kind of annoying) but most stand alone programs do not have that restriction in my experience so it'd be worth the 3 dollars to have that issue fixed if nothing else
also would be nice if you could import your multipliers from the demo to the main game at least if there's problems creating a full save export for some reason
In the settings menu, you can export the save from the demo by either copying the text or downloading the save file. You can then import it into the payed version.
Craft Holy Hand Grenade = ally with goblins + return necronomicon
The games branches are blanced in terms of power gained, so if you are missing something, look in the branch with missing power. wolves+goblins ~~ elves
return necronomicon ~~ use necronomicon
The fairy and tower branches however have a clear best choice.
Finally, now that I'm well rested I can train to fight the demon lord!
It took me 87 loops to do this...
For anyone wondering how much sleep this is, here is the math (based a few assumptions)
Considering this is a fantasy world, we can assume the main character gets a healthy 8 hours of sleep.
On top of that, the "Sleep" action has the description of "Just 5 more minutes" meaning we can count each of the 1,000 sleep actions as 5 minutes each for a total of 5,000 minutes.
Yes it can be beaten, but the game works around the concept of repeating your run getting faster each time and thus progressing further. There are also more viable paths that will get you further, eventually though any path is viable.
if I were you, I would wait and see if it gets another update. As it is now, the current version doesn't have an ending. You just reach a point where you are so fast that run out of tasks.
Its just not worth it right now, and it doesn't seem like another update is coming
yeah. I also am building a little game and decided to use Godot to built it. The main code is in python so it works pretty well. Not too steep of a learning curve.
i like the premise, but not the way i have to interact with the game a few times a minute but not more or less frequently, and the repetitiveness got boring (probably because each cycle takes a while). i think it would be more fun for me if game time passed instantly without having to wait, but i also was looking for idle games where i could check in way less often, so i guess i'm not the audience for this either way right now
oh, also, scrolling with a touchpad was way too sensitive for some reason, it made the actions list pretty hard to navigate on a laptop because very little movement would scroll all the way to the bottom/top, this is different from how everything else on my computer reacts to the touchpad. not sure what's the reason for that. it'd be nice to have an alternative way to scroll, like arrow keys
this game is some of the most fun I've had recently with gaming--- super dopaminergic! Does anyone know what this kind of game genre is called or can give me other games like this? It's like the cookie clicker or adventure capitalist multiplier effect for time meets "choose your own adventure". Purchased this and looking forward to more updates.
-> Craft Mithril Warhammers = When you have Goblin Brutes, craft these for them. That way mithril is useful to both elves and goblin paths.
-> Craft Potion of Flight = Using the Fairy Wings to unlock additional gameplay paths that would require you have some way to fly, to reach them.
-> Divine Rites = If you turn over the Necromicon, you can perform Divine Rites on all the corpses you've accumulated, to say train Holy Magic, a new form of spellcasting.
-> Piercing Needles = should grant say +250 power each time. It takes a massive time investment to reach it (entire wizard tower + purifying the tree) and it takes 50 seconds per time to do.
-> Help Vegetable Vendor = should give 2 speaking per time.
-> Learn Animal Empathy = should give 5 animal handling per time.
-> Ride Direwolf = Have it unlock when you tame it.
Some ideas for added activity/changes in early game:
1) Make it so that the first training dummy gives you sufficient power to attack the forest guardian. Right now, you have to do a bit of it and some rats, to have enough.
2) Have the tavern keeper ask you to deliver a letter to a friend in the city, after you've helped them out. This could then set off a chain of events at the city. Say it allows you to take on postman contracts, to deliver letters to various people and thus lets you explore more of the world, in a different way.
3) Have the ability to set how much of an activity you want to do, in a queue. So then you could setup a basic run to auto-work on, while you do something else, waiting for the queue to get completed. Would eliminate a lot of the early game redo process, once you've managed to figure out a path for the short-term.
4) Have the option to find the cat of yours a mate. Then get it to have babies. All activities related to animal taming. Right now the cat is mostly there to facilitate taming wolves or for necromancy sacrifice, and this way the cat would have a different role to play.
5) Have the option to breed rabbits, wolves, and dire wolves. Might need some extra training from the elves to do this.
6) Have the option to mine extra ores, learned from goblin mining trainers. Then you'd have more iron and mithril ore you could acquire and use for special projects.
7) Have the option to visit the city that is to be pillaged. Maybe its a special city only available to visit, if you turn in the Necromicon, instead of using it and becoming a Necromancer.
Pretty fun game, some bugs to still workout. one I havent seen mentioned yet is There needs to be an option for automation to continue past the "major choice" popup.
first off, would be nice if we could control how often we do something.like if I wanna dream exactly one time, i currently cant do that.I would have to wait until when the bar is sjut about full and quickly stop it before it starts the next iteration so I dont waste seconds on a partial iteration cause I didnt stop it in time.
Also would be nice to know both how the stats we achieved in a run relates to how the "prestige multipliers" change.and what stats we need to beat the demon assasin. pr do we need an actual army to defeat him, like making all the chocies and stuff in time? I would think if your abilites are good enough, one should be able to jsut solo him. gotta know his stats first though...
Also on the automation screen would be VERY nice to know wtf each of those hundreds ??? blocks is, so we know which skill we are jsut assigning which priority... currently utterly useless that automation stuff...
I was in the browser version and I had like 20 runs of just hitting sleep and leaving to get a higher sleep mult and then when it got below .2 sec it did this (it stopped after .1 passed)

Idk how to put this but... buttttttt....
I know this game was made first, but someone yoinked the idea out of nowhere.
I see so as well. I hope its the creator of this game T-T (Doubt it is). But I wouldn’t say yoinked. More like just stealing. But if the Owner of this game deploys a steam game, then the other game cant do anything.

Just found a third game in this format today: https://stripedbutterfly.itch.io/surviving-magic-academy-as-a-demon-lord
Which seems to be taking more cues from the other game than this one, ironically.

Woo! love the update! Absolutely worth the wait.

Error
The following features required to run Godot projects on the Web are missing:
WebGL2 - Check web browser configuration and hardware support
Godot keeps crushing still loved it so paid xD
Loving this game, can't wait for the next update

I've fixed the two bugs. Thank you both for reporting them.
QOL suggestion: in the automation menu an option to automatically set 'choice's to off with a button press
Also we need some granular control to get exact timings. I'd like if we could right click to do something only once.
Automation rules won't automatically stop Gather Wood at 10 to go Fight Twig Creatures.
Is there no checking between steps of a task to see if there is a new task it can swap to?

The downloadable version is a program.
If you import your save file, you'll keep all the multipliers from the demo.
how do you import the save file?
In the settings menu, you can export the save from the demo by either copying the text or downloading the save file. You can then import it into the payed version.
Thank you
Having trouble figuring out what the action after Learn Holy Smite is in the paid version if anyone can help!
Craft Holy Hand Grenade = ally with goblins + return necronomicon

5,000 / 60 ~= 83.3
83.3 + 8 = 91.3
91.3 hours
OR
8 * 60 = 480
5,000 + 480 = 5,480
5,480 minutes
OR
91.3 / 24 ~= 3.8
3.8 days
the ridiculous things some people do ... Good job!
goblin book freezes my game after i read it ): plz fix
edit: vials also froze my computer, along with a couple others. this is really unfortunate
Absolutely Loved it. Can't wait for there to be more content.
Agree
bug: ally of the goblins says it gives 1 power and it actually gives 20
add a change automation loadout name button please
Is the demo even beatable because I dont see how. I managed 252 power but there is not enough time. Unless there is a better path
Yes it can be beaten, but the game works around the concept of repeating your run getting faster each time and thus progressing further. There are also more viable paths that will get you further, eventually though any path is viable.
It is fun though. Havnt bought it yet but considering it.

this comment aged very poorly very quickly
if you automate the a major choice, such as aid/kill fairy, you should not have to click the prompt again
Skills don't give a bonus to actions until you prestige, and the bonus isn't big enough. It should work like Increlution.
I started your game and enjoyed it. Im working to release my own first game hopefully by may
I love this game! I've been checking the page every day to see if there's been an update :D

aid fairy/fight wolves/fight goblins/break doors/open necronomicon.
Final power 7125
Finally got pass the assassin. Fun stuff you've got here.

These games are called incremental games, I also enjoy them too! If you wanna look at more you can just click this link
New Alternate Paths:
-> Craft Mithril Warhammers = When you have Goblin Brutes, craft these for them. That way mithril is useful to both elves and goblin paths.
-> Craft Potion of Flight = Using the Fairy Wings to unlock additional gameplay paths that would require you have some way to fly, to reach them.

-> Help Vegetable Vendor = should give 2 speaking per time.
-> Learn Animal Empathy = should give 5 animal handling per time.
-> Ride Direwolf = Have it unlock when you tame it.
Bug?
If you choose to kick down the door, you still have the option to buy roast chicken. But you can't progress it any further than that.
Bug?
Automation categories aren't unlocking for me. For example, no matter how much I Gather Herbs, I can't unlock it.
Are there plans to support other OS?
A Linux version should be easy to compile. An Android version should be possible, the Web demo works on phones but the UI is messed up.
Super fun game! All about optimization and doing better next time

Thank you for the feedback!
The requirement to beat the assassin is in parentheses (500 Power).
To reveal the ??? in the automation menu, you need to discover them in the game.
It's broken at the moment, in order to reveal the ??? in automation, you have to exit to main menu and come back.
uhh what
Hey, can you tell me when that happened?
I was in the browser version and I had like 20 runs of just hitting sleep and leaving to get a higher sleep mult and then when it got below .2 sec it did this (it stopped after .1 passed)
Thanks! It should be fixed now.
you should add something where you can see how many times you can do an action
oh i shouldn't try to do this in one round? that makes WAY MORE SENSE!!!
