The Palestinian Red Crescent Society is a national association with an independent legal personality, officially recognized, and it is one of the components of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, operating in the occupied Palestinian territory and in the areas of Palestinian people's gatherings, based on the Geneva Conventions, and on the principles of the International Red Cross Movement The seven Red Crescent: humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, volunteering, unity, and universality.

The establishment of the first Red Crescent Society in Palestine dates back to 1910 in the city of Jerusalem. This important role of the association and its legal status were emphasized by Presidential Decree No. (46) of 1977 and Presidential Decree No. (12) of 2006. And given the humanitarian role that the association played in providing health and social services to the Palestinian people in the homeland and the diaspora, and for all those in need.
Due to its reputation and distinguished presence in Palestinian, Arab and international humanitarian activities The association obtained full membership (member No. 184) in the International Federation of Associations Red Cross and Crescent Red on 2006/6/22, based on a decision of the 29th International Conference of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.

The mission of the Palestine Red Crescent Society is to provide humanitarian, health, social and relief services to the Palestinian people, wherever the need exists, and wherever.
