NOT necessarily what you USUALLY do, whats your FAVOURITE for whatever reason

(e.g., you usually stream but your favourite way to listen is via vinyl)

Child soldiers exist, war is not an adult topic.

Children die, death/murder is not an adult topic.

The Troubled Teen Industry exists, child trafficking is not an adult topic.

Children get raped, sexual assault is not an adult topic.

Children have alcoholic parents, addiction is not an adult topic.

Children get beat to the point of hospitalization at school, that level of violence is not an adult topic.

That when these things get into "kid friendly" media at all, they tend to be heavily censored is about protecting adult control over kids, not about protecting children.

*gathers all of the people in the world who write the number 7 with a little dash in the center of it so I can study them like little critters and find out what makes them do that*

There’s actually a lot of history regarding the development writing systems and why there are different visual representations of numerals,

but the short answer is: it’s regional, and you probably picked up how to make your numbers look based on your parents or your primary school teachers

I do it out of spite because in grade school a kids detective story identified the culprit by saying NO American wrote their sevens with a line and I thought that was super flimsy evidence and it made me so mad I started putting a line through my sevens so the fictional detective would be wrong and then kept doing it for several decades since.

Yeah I think I do it in part because we were told not to in primary school once, on the grounds that “we’re not French”.

Also because I prefer how it looks and it makes it easier to distinguish it from a 1

I wrote then without the dash until 2004, when I went to field school for the first time, and site protocol was to cross your 7s, so I started and never stopped.

I cross my zeds for lols.

Anonymous shouted:

have you and one of your siblings ever been mistaken for twins when you aren’t?

yes and i understand (similar ages, look alike …)

yes but i don’t see it, but its believable

yes and i was actually surprised (ex. said sibling is like 15 years older)

no, but if i said my sibling was my twin it’d be believable

no, and we couldn’t realistically pass as twins

no because we actually are twins

i actually have a twin, but this has happened w/ another sibling

only child/my sibling is bald

Welcome to the 2026 edition of the Take That Big Bang!

Bringing back the 'big bang' writing challenge of yore to this fandom! This go 'round will be pretty casual compared to other bangs you've probably seen around, and art will be optional though encouraged!

Rules

☆ all entries will have a 15k minimum wordcount requirement, and a 20k wordcount maximum.

☆ this year's big bang challenge, you can either work on a pre-existing Take That related fanfic, or you can write a fanfic concerning an alternate timeline. However you wish to interpret 'alternate timeline' is completely up to you as the writer!

☆ this challenge starts on January 1st, 2026 and the first deadline is May 29th, 2026 (the first night of the Circus Tour). The final deadline is July 4th, 2026 (the last night of the tour), and all fanfic should be posted by July 5th, which is when the AO3 collection will close.

☆ Any pairing(s) are allowed, OCs (Orginal Characters) and Self Inserts are allowed, as long as the fanfic is mainly Take That related.

If you'd like to join the Take That And Party server (and are 18+), please DM either @rockestra or @hypersensing for an invite! We have a dedicated channel for all things Big Bang, and we are a fan server for TT as is! We'd love to have you join us!

The Big Bang AO3 Collection is [HERE]

If you have any further questions, please send an ask!

“As it turns out, Mark…has been in California lately, and him and I got together a couple of weeks ago and started writing music. Who knows if anybody will hear any of this stuff? … Mark and I have had so much fun, just making stuff up. And again, who knows where this stuff goes? … He was just kinda like, “Hey I’m in town, do you wanna write?” And I was like, “Me? I’d didn’t even know I was on your radar”. I hung out with Gary the night I came to London, but he was like, “We should hang out”. So sure enough, the guy comes over, we had the BEST time… They’re the nicest people on earth, I want to be a nice person and they’re like the example, they’re GREAT humans.”

JC Chasez from NSYNC on The Daily Popcast with Lance Bass, released 17 March 2020

Good to know the most elusive members of NSYNC and Take That have been secretly hanging out and writing together…I’d love to be a fly on the wall in that room, or at least I hope we get to hear some of this!

being on this site during a current major yaoi event while you're still in the trenches of something long gone like hey I know you guys are having fun over there but does anybody wanna play with this beat up crusty doll i've been throwing against the wall for five years

one video game trope I cannot stand is lockpicks being disposable. how bad are you at picking these fucking locks that you're utterly ruining your tools every time

charged as hell moment thank you daniel craig but this is also one of josh o'connor's most interesting acting choices in the movie To Me bc he doesn't play it goofy or flustered and instead wears the expression of an ex boxer that got beaten to a pulp by an older man a few days ago and is extremely not in the mood to be cornered in the dark by another erratic man. his feelings towards his fellow man seem to exist on a scale between tolerance and rage and even after finding his calling in helping people as a priest he keeps being put in situations where he has to try so so so hard to tamp down on that rage. which is of course the message of the movie: stop stoking your rage and learn tolerance etc etc.

but there is also the unspoken layer to this character which is the Hot Priest of it all and the implicitly queer casting choice of josh o'connor. this character and craig's (somewhat) openly gay detective keep being put in close quarters and engaging in far more physicality than we are used to seeing between blanc and his companions. there's this elephant in the room in the shape of father jud's unmentioned sexuality - where does it lie in his aforementioned scale of tolerance and rage? of course him embracing blanc at the end and the "all are welcome" sign indicates that he is accepting and welcoming of others, that's not even a question. but this movie posits him as a guy that scared himself with the strength of his emotions and ability to physically harm another man and now won't even indulge in playing detective with one but instead seems to want to dissociate into divinity and priesthood and helping other people (and it didn't escape my notice that all his favorite sinners in this film, martha, grace, louise and her mother - were all women). and i'm just like man. this guy is so scared of himself he thought he blacked out and killed another innocent man. whatever tolerance he's able to extend to other people barely seems to exist for himself. and i'm not supposed to think he's queer?

man I forgot how badly normie mostly straight mostly white women start to behave the moment a queer thing hits the mainstream and how literally NO ONE learns lessons from the collective ‘this is not what this queer thing is about and you’re fetishizing again!’ moment that ends up occurring
