Nightmare at Soubridge Merc.
I am not sure about other places, but the Stoubridge garage is the one I will avoid in the future.
I bought an approved used Mercedes E class. During test drive everything looked fine to me. I was promised that the car will be prepared withing a week and I was offerred some gifts from the Mercedes shop. What a thrilling feeling!
When came to pick up the car, after sorting out the payment, I was presented shortly what has been done to my car: interrior and exterrior of the car supposed to be treated with ceramic and leather protection, tank almost full, car clean and tidy.
Process of passing the car over was very simple: here are the keys and there is your car.
When I sat inside, I found that the boot switch in the door has been broken (it wasn't when I checked before), the silver trim in the centre console was damaged (this was new too). I asked for this to be checked. Sales person promised to sort it out.
When I drove off, I found that the seats werent correctly treated. Only partially, which is obvious when the surface has differen shades/finish. The treatment bag, which contains some sponges and first aid kit, had lots of empty bottles. What do I need empty bottles for? The steering wheel was shaking badly at higher speeds due to wheels not been balanced correctly (this has been sorted promptly by Worcester branch).
I called the sales person and he promised (again) to take care of it.
As if it comes to gifts, none were offered at the day of sale but I was told I will receive them by post.
Few weeks passed and nothing had happened. I tried to contact the sales person via email, but no response. When I called, and tried to speak to the manager, I was given his email address. He didn't respond as well.
I filled the complaint form online on the Lookers website. After two weeks, the sales person called me promissing he will sort things out immidiatelly. He promised again: gifts by post, treatment repeated, trim and switch replaced.
In the meantime I was informed, that the boot switch has been ordered by Worcester garage, but the trim has not, as the sales person didn't respond to Worcester reqests.
It is over a month now and I am still waiting for everything to be done.
I have never been treated as bad as by Lookers Staubridge. The car is fantastic, but Lookers has made everything possible to destroy all the pleasure of having a good car.
I hope the other garages aren't like this one.
I will never ever again consider buying anything from that company again.
