First off, my rig, which I specifically built with this game in mind prior to release. I do not understand why they set their spec recommendations and minimums so GPU's that are multiple generations behind for a game which is so clearly not meant to support them:

ASUS ROG STRIX Z790-E Gaming WIFI ATX Motherboard
Intel i5 13600K
32GB Corsair Vengeance 6600 DDR5 Ram
AMD Radeon Sapphire 7900 XT

I am experiencing some stutters when entering a new zone for the very first time. These last about 15 seconds, and then never reappear. Outside of that, I am maintaining 50-60fps with ultra settings, ultra texture pack enabled, and native 2K with no frame gen or AMD FSR (no ray trace but it also is only causing a 10fps margin difference if I enable it).

With FSR and Frame Gen enabled, I am running 110 with dips during the absolute craziest moments at a 90fps low. These are not common however.

I know this is not the same for everyone, and I know most people are experiencing issues. However, I can't help but feel that people come into these 2025/2024 release flagship titles on 5-10 year old hardware expecting to get perfect performance on high settings. I don't agree with where games are heading in that frame gen and DLSS/FSR options are becoming a necessity and that games are developed with their enabling in mind. However, that is where we are at, and it will likely not change due to the fact that we are now two(?) generations into GPU's that these functions are featured in.

They 100% need to change their listed spec requirements, buff them up, and honestly submit refunds to anyone that was misled by them. I feel for anyone who can't run the game. For anyone who has a 4070 or newer, I think adjusting your settings can go a long way for you.

I remember prior to release and during beta, this game raised a question of how much VRAM should be in GPU's coming into these new generations because 8 was seeming to not be enough. I chose a card with 20Gb VRam for this reason so I would ensure I could play this game without issues. I think that is probably where the issue is coming in for people.

I have also seen lots of reports of 100% CPU usage, specifically on current gen CPU's. I am on a I5 13600K and running 50-60% usage, 40% when idling in game. I think people need to continue to consider their CPU's are ones affected by the widely known CPU issues that are still ongoing. I have ensured that I updated my bios and chipsets as soon as updates were coming out so this would be mitigated in my build.

Now, as for the actual review - I love this game. The combat is MH: Worlds, but a little more aggressive in the moveset options. The new function of aiming your attacks is great once you get used to it. The wounding system is cool and adds some additional flavor, skill-set, and variety to your attack options. Armour look amazing as always. Graphical style is beautiful and reflects another lived-in world with an ecosystem that you can get lost in. The new set up of having a quest-giver follow you everywhere you go keeps your downtime low, and the new style of open zones allow you to just head in and hunt whatever large monsters decide to make their way into the locale at any time. If you enjoyed Worlds, you will 100% love this game, plain and simple. I cannot wait to hundreds more hours into this game.

Edit: Want to also throw in that there has been a continuous number of concurrent players reaching over 1 million for 3 days now, and only 46,000 people have taken time to leave reviews, and still it is not reached a mostly negative. This problem is not as far reaching as everyone thinks it is. 1 million people are enjoying their game.
