it really gets me that possibly the last the thing saint says to osiris before his death in the infinite forest contains the phrase ‘news of my demise will no doubt reach you late. i can already see your response—the guilt that will follow, however fleeting’ and then the reality is that that guilt is so consuming that it’s the catalyst that brings him back

destiny 2 saint-14 osiris yeah that is the last thing osiris read from him :)

Some days, it feels like enjoying Destiny, flaws and all, is wrong.

It feels like if you don't have ANYTHING negative to say about the game, you're wrong.

God forbid if it's something that is universally hated in the community, like Gambit or Lightfall.

"Why do you like [insert character]? They're poorly written." I like how they're written, and it works with how Destiny is telling it's story.

"The story is a jumbled mess." And? You won't be spoonfed everything in life, even in games. And it works for this story to be not spoonfed everything. It leaves you puzzling, and that's a good thing.

"[Game mode] is dumb! How the hell can you play it so much?" It's fun and engaging. It may not be to you, but it is to me, what's the problem with that?

Every day, I ask myself why I keep playing Destiny. And the answer is simple: I like the game.

And every day, I feel like that answer is the wrong thing to say and believe. That I HAVE to have something I don't like about it. And I don't have anything about Destiny I don't like.

Is it that hard to ask for people to just enjoy a game and let it's developers work? Yes. Apparently it is. And I'm sorry for expecting better out of this community.

Okay I'll shut up now.

Hey. Um, so this got some attention.

I wasn't in a great headspace for the past 24 hours, and I just needed to vent about something. It both breaks my heart and warms it to see so many fellow Guardians agree that this community has been so negative recently.

I wanted to just come and say thank you. The reblogs and comments helped cheer me up. It also helped me rekindle that lost love I had for Destiny as well. A little bit anyway.

I fell out of playing due to not just the community but due to school, so when I can, I'll probably pick up the game again (still need to finish the Calus boss fight lol).

Again, thank you to everyone who has reblogged and commented on this. Go do a bounty or two, and take your time doing so. Find that lost spark that got you into Destiny in the first place. Okay I'll go away for now.

destiny 2 :) I'm glad it helps! sometimes it can feel isolating in a community that behaves like this wanted to make sure that you know you're not alone and that there's plenty of people who agree reblogging to share with others that this type of positivity helps

The way you guys treat y’all’s guardians compared to how people on Reddit did gave me whiplash. I should have known that the website obsessed with OCs and fan fiction (and latching on to any character they can) would give so much more life and personality to the basic characters that’s are possible in-game. Like on Reddit, everyone treats them like objects and you’ll almost never even see their faces. But the way you guys treat your destiny characters is up there with how people treat dnd characters. I mean y’all give so much more life to the almost completely non-verbal Main Character and turn them into people. There’s so much more care and attention here and I love that
